NFL Pick 3 Weekly/ TOUR Picks Weekly

Time sure seems to move quickly.  I feel like not all my picks from last week have been completed, yet here I am picking again.  The turkey is gone, the green bean casserole is around, but mix it with the stuffing and you have yourself a certifiable feast.  My new found commitment to not being a fat slob means my usual weekend pie eating for breakfast lunch dinner has been curtailed, which truthfully hurt more than I thought it would.  With the slimming effects of salad on my mind I launch into the picks this week.

 

Years ago, the future state of OH was blessed with one of the most underrated tribal leaders in the history of our nation.  Tecumseh was a great Shawnee leader who fought to keep the US from moving west.  Even teaming up with the Brits in the war of 1812.  If only OH had another leader available like this.  I can say with some assurance it isn't Baker.  The Browns can't seem to get out of their own way, but I suspect with Derrick Henry, they will be getting out of the way.  Taking the TN Titans and giving the points.  This one is for Elvis, if only Jerry Glanville were still coaching.

 

The windy city actually isn't the windiest city in the US, but because all they do is complain about the wind, they got the moniker.  Patrick Kane wears Chief Blackhawk on his Jersey even though he wasn't specific to Chicago, or even Illinois truthfully.  When they decided to name their football team they called themselves the Bears.  This is, on the face of it, stupid.  Bears in Illinois?  I don't think so.  So for their final karmic slap of 2020, I refuse to let their petulance lead me to call it the windy city nor are they even remotely in Bear country.  Fortunately for them, they are playing the Lions who have an even less relevant name.  Give me the Bears at home in the wind and giving 3.

 

Lastly, WFT.  They don't even have a name because the term Redskin is on its face derogatory.  There is no reference to a great leader like the Blackhawk logo, or anything else really.  It is just a racial term which has become pretty normalized over the years if we really think about it.  Anyway, let's talk great leaders of the Redskins.  Dan Snyder?  Nope.  I can't even name another current WFT guy so when I googled them, half of them are so embarrassed to be associated with the peeping tom they aren't even in uniform when they are photographed.  So, in a bury your head in the sand and hope to get traded in the off season, I am picking the Steelers and giving the points.

Being a Michigander I was pulling for an Iroquois reference! Well written and often as you do add some history tidbits.

They are not the odds-on favorites to win the Super Bowl. ‌ Per MGM, they aren’t even second. ‌ Why? ‌ Well, the Chiefs (+250) have Patrick Mahomes and are the reigning champs, while the Saints (+550) benefit from not having to go through Kansas City. ‌ The Steelers (+600) … they have four victories over winning teams, including the Ravens twice — and Wednesday’s “game” barely counts. ‌ The Steelers have said going 16-0 isn’t their goal — a Super Bowl is — but achieving perfection might be their best route to get to Tampa. ‌ Because of COVID, the Steelers essentially haven’t had a bye this season — and won’t. That’s part of what shines up that perfect record even more. ‌ So what if heading into the final weekend, they are 15-0 and the Chiefs are 14-1, meaning homefield advantage and — maybe as important to the Steelers — a first-round bye is on the line? A loss to the Browns in the finale would flatten the Steelers' “strength of victory” — the tiebreaker in this case — and could potentially drop them behind the Chiefs. ‌ From perfection to the wild-card round would be quite a tumble, and that’s if they can get by 8-3 Buffalo, 7-4 Indy and 8-3 Cleveland. ‌ This is the perilously thin line the Steelers will be walking over the next month. And it’s part of the reason why, despite an 11-0 record, they aren’t the Super Bowl favorites.

Cleveland + 5 1/2 

The Browns won't win, but the 5 1/2 points is enough to get me the cover and winning pick.

Chubb will run for plenty and his effort keeps this one close. 

 

LA Rams  -3 

Sean McVay is 6-0 in his time as LA's HC against the Redbirds. I look for him to make it 7-0.

Ramsey on Hopkins takes that Cardinal's weapon away. The Rams defense makes it very tough on the Cardinals QB.  I haven't sold my stock in the Rams just because of last week's loss to the 49'rs.  

 

NY Giants / Seattle   UNDR 48 1/2 

Both of these teams have played in under games the majority of the month of November. That trend continues.
