Thoughts on an old Ram Bag

I'd like to get a bag for my Wilson Goose Necks and Tour Persimmons.

A Wilson bag would be ideal but the price on this is tough to beat.

Anyone have experience with a Ram bag?

It's nice. Congrats on the find. My favorite vintage bag is the Burton. I have three and always look for more.

My basic rule of thumb is to always buy classic leather bags for $10 when you get a chance.  If nothing else they are a great place to store your extra clubs.  Looks like the Ram bag you found is in better shape than mine.

I found a good one the other day too - first staff bag (from 1992 with the tags still on it).

Nice bag glad you went for it. Yeah I have always mis matched brands versus bags etc. My old Man's last staff deal was with Ram. When he retired I carried his old staff bag for years and LOL not a Ram club in it. I think my Power Bilt staff carry has a set of 57 Diamond Back Macs in it right now but does have a Power Bilt driver. One thing about the vintage world you may find a Ram guy that has a Wilson bag and make a trade or you may like and keep the Ram bag. Nothing at all wrong either way IMHO

My Tom Watson tribute Ram bag is coming along. I have the TP Mod 1 driver, Tour Grind irons, '58 Dynapower wedge (repro!).  Golden Ram fairway woods plug that gap until I get more definitive info so mainly just looking for a Ping Pal putter.

However, I was watching highlights of Seve's '79 British Open win and noticed that he was a Ram staffer at that time. Always assumed the red and white bag was Slazenger but it was a Ram bag!

I know Seve had multiple club deals at different times and different parts of the world but does anyone know what Ram clubs he played?

At Turnberry in the 77 Open Championship, he was using an 8813.  You could be still correctly Watsonesque with one of those.

Sweet bag!!!! Something about the old vintage bags for me; heavier than heck but so sweet. I have an old ping staff bag; i want the smaller carry bag and have been trying to swindle my dad out of it for years and he wont budge!

I've got a 8813! 🙂 That completes the bag although I think I will still try and source a Pal as in my minds eye that is what I associate with Tom.

I think Ram produced a Tom Watson 8802/ 8813 style putter. I know for sure that they had a Gene Littler signature 8802 style because I have one somewhere and I think I may have a Watson signature one too
