That Cypher shaft is pretty cool looking. Assuming it is going to be for slower clubhead speeds or more spin/launch if it has a 50g variant?

I don't know, not many slower swing speeds need a TX flex. Also not many slower swing speeds on the tour since that picture is from the tour trailer wall.

 

Shafts labeled as 50, 60, 70 will vary in that range. Different shafts labeled 60 could be actually 61g or 68g. The 50 TX could be 59g for all we know. Smoke black 6.5 is 60 or 62 grams. Tensei White/Blue often ends up at the higher end around 68g in the 60 category. 

 

A player who was in a 66g shaft but wants more club head speed could find it in a 58g shaft now swinging it faster needing TX.

Shafts are big business with big profit margins. I buy my Ventus with Velocore @ $185 a piece. The place where I buy them from has another level of pricing that I don't qualify for so even with that level the distributor is still making money. If an OEM buys directly, their cost per unit has to be even less.

 

With careful planning and forecasting, there is no reason for the bigger OEM's to not use premium shafts as a stock option.
