PXG players - tell me about the Woods

I'm interested in the PXG prototype driver. It's what I wish my PING would look like. Has anyone made the move from PING G410 to PXG? I'm also looking to replace my 5w with a new 3 wood for better gapping reasons (carries too close to my hybrid) Just looking for some opinions regarding feel/forgiveness/sound compared to PING

Love my Proto X+. Added 30yds to my drive. Moving from a TM R7 460 it wasn’t hard to beat in distance but I’m also hitting 20% more fairways. All of this is via ShotScope in actual playing conditions. I was fitted for a Sim Max the week before getting the PXG but I didn’t like the feel of it. So glad I waited.

Killing my Proto non + model. More predictable and consistent than the SIM in my hands. Look and sound are awesome too. Also gaming a 5 wood tuned to 4 wood length. Great club off tee and deck. Hybrids are best I have ever owned.

Have the proto and 3/5 woods. Proto is great but it’s too loud. The woods are hard to elevate, which is strange for me because I am a high ball hitter. Never had that problem. I’m probably moving on.

but, these are the best looking woods I’ve seen.

I would not call Gen 2 & Protos loud. More like a nice whack with a wooden baseball bat. But guess sound can very depending on your set up. I dumped G400 LST for Gen 2 X and now Proto X and haven't looked back. Nothing new on market performs like the Proto drivers IMO. As mentioned above, plenty of feedback on Protos and the results are great. As far as woods, I had a 13 degree 2 wood which was a rocket off the tee but was hard for me to get it off the ground with my shaft set up. However, there's plenty of good feedback on the woods in the forums as well.

Muted and agree that flight is flatter. Will only suit some as it is a preference.

Have proto, 3w, 3 and4h. Proto, Arccos shows I picked up 14 yards on my previous driver which I hit well. Lower spin main factor. Great adjustability, great sound and feel.

3w, had to dial in most. But now I have it, this thing is a rocket. Ability to fine tune is just awesome.

the hybrids, wow. Love the smaller head size. Ability to seriously flatten the lie takes out the lefts.

all of their woods have significant length. Just love them. Never thought of myself as a long hitter. 3 shooters on par 5 were my standard. I hit a 3w of the tee followed with a 3 hybrid. I’m in new territories.

given their price point, and if you’re lucky the ability to get a live fitting just makes it unbeatable value.

totally different customer experience once you go PXG.

I do not have a Proto but just got a 811 XF. As was stated above, the wooden baseball bat description is spot on. Definitely not as mushy feeling as the Honma I was playing prior. The look from address and the matte finish is outstanding. I was originally looking for a 410 plus head only gently used as I had a shaft already to go but with the new pricing I got a custom fit driver along with the great customer service (New England) for less than the Pings I was being shown. Pleasant surprise for sure.

I picked up a used Proto X+ driver from pxgexpress on ebay. Arrived today. Looks great, but all 4 weights were "light". No heavy weight. HZRDUS shaft is counterbalanced. 45" length and I checked swingweight.....C1. No wrench either. Yikes.

Proto X is solid if your looking for low spin feels great and looks even better.

Played G400 and G410LST for a long time and the proto is better IMO. Really surprised more people aren’t talking about it.

Kudos to PXGexpress. They PM'd me back first thing this morning, and already sent out a weight and wrench.
