Sorry to hear about that. Any idea what caused this? Past injury, repetitive motion from work or hobby? Sports or injury? Or just bad luck genetics?

I just bought one of those gyroscope powerballs for my wrist, hoping it can warm it up enough before golf so I can play. 

 

Is it damaging for you to play or just pain management?

I thought I'd posted on this thread--my current status and what's helping--but can't find it anywhere so please excuse me if this post repeats something I've posted here.  I'm a bit embarrassed to state this but I chucked all the osteoarthritis gels, creams, sprays, pills and even my own ibuprofen gel I made---and started a strict (meaning I have yet to waver from it) daily regimen of about 1 tbsp of organic apple cider vinegar and a small dollop of honey.

 

I've been doing this for about 5 months now and it has significantly helped my problem.  Diagnosed with STT joint arthritis but the actual pain comes from the stress on the lunate bones in both wrists (likely from the arthritis) turning those bones about 180 degrees around, pinching pain in the wrist making it almost impossible to hold on to the golf club during a normal swing.

 

This regiment someone told me about works better than all the gels, creams, pills I've been experimenting with/taking.  All I can attribute this to is that we're all different from each other in our DNA and what works for one doesn't work for another.  I'm more surprised by this than pretty much anyone but I'll take it!!!!

Good to hear Juliette, that you have found some relief.  But frankly, i cannot begin to understand any kind of 'mechanism' involved in your treatment.  Vinegar and honey are immediately broken  down in the stomach into basic simple chemicals, easily absorbed by the guts.  So how can such offer relief to far off joints?  

 

I am not disputing your relief. 

 

In my case, also osteoarthritis etc, esp knees, hips, lumbar spine, but occasionally wrist joints or elbow i have noticed seasonal, weather related, sleep and exercise related, possibly diet, all may contribute to onset and regression of the symptoms. 

 

I did read up on above mentioned 'cucurmin' and found some medical evidence, as cited in academic papers, that cucurmin does offer some kind of anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant benefits.  I do use lots of curry, a source of cucurmin, in my cooking which has strong benefits to the digestive system.

 

I will further investigate the cucurmin, consider which ingestion route (pills or direct food) and begin a regime of treatment. Will report back in 6 months.  Only real issue is whether i am too late to make any difference to my golf.
