Wilson staff cb, mp20 mmc or ping i210?

I’ve played i210, cant go wrong with them, I own MP20 MMC, I love them.  I’ve played Ping forever, when it came time to upgrade I just wanted something different.  I think long term the Pings have the advantage, they will be more durable being cast.  Short term the MP20s just feel like butter.

Mileslong, having played the Mizuno and Pings, good comments,i would go for Softer over Durability any day.Test the Wilsons, their 8620 just isnt soft enough for me on several older sets i owned.Have too also demo T100? wouldnt you?All the Wilson on line press releases seemed infomercials vs seeing real comparisons side by side.ps loved FG62,S58,MP33 so im not biased

I210 for sure if you ask me. They are cast and more durable but honestly feel softer than many forged clubs. Plus I don’t think you will find a more consistent cavity for distance control. Coming from forged Titleist/Mizuno models most recently I can say it’s no step back.

I am in this market in 2021 as well. Going to be comparing notes on T100, Wilson's CB, Srixon zx7, MMC, and hopefully the new i59 if that club is real. Might give the 770s and X forged a chance too.

I will definitely be testing out the Wilson Staff Model CBs. If they feel and perform anything like the Staff Model Blades then they may just be finding their way into my bag.

My Wishon 575 MMC CB set will take some beating though.

I did like the Ping i210 irons when I tested them. Surprisingly soft for a cast iron, very consistent, forgiving and I really like the option of the retro spec lofts. The Mizuno MP 20 MMC feel, to me, was not as good as some other Mizuno irons that I have tried in the past.

Just curious what other Mizuno irons you tried in the past were?

Of course feel is completely subjective, but having played mutiple sets of MPs and a few of the JPX lines, the MMCs feel better than any.

The Wilson’s for sure!

All good clubs but you can buy the Wilson CB's and without sacrificing a thing have money left over to play a lot of golf.

I have tried the following Mizuno irons over the years, with Dynamic Gold S300 or KBS Tour 120 S shafts. Full disclosure, they were hit either outside at demo days or indoors off mats in simulators with non-premium golf balls, and I did NOT have the good fortune to use them on the course.

MP: 15, 18, 18 SC, 20, 20 MMC, 25, 32, 53, 54, 59, 63, 68, 69

JPX: 825 Pro, 850 Forged, 900 Tour

I would say that the MP 68 were my favorite. I did not get along with the MP 18 SC.

I tend to hit the ball slightly heel side of center and a fraction low on the face. Feel is very subjective and depends on the strike location, shaft and type of ball used, so naturally people's experiences will differ.

Back in February I hit every 2020 model players iron I could lay my hands on at the Boston Golf Expo, including Mizuno MP 20 & MP 20 MMC, TaylorMade P760, Wilson Staff FG Tour V6 & Staff Model Blade, Callaway Apex Pro 19, Ping i210 & iBlade & Blueprint, Titleist T100 and Srixon z785. The Wilson Staff Model Blade had the best feel to me, with the TaylorMade P760 my least favorite. I did like the feel of the  Ping i210 and iBlade, but not the Blueprints. The MP 20 blades were great, but the 20 MMC just did not wow me. I did also like the Titleist T100.

Over the years the sets that I have owned and liked the most were the Nike Vr Forged Pro Combo (2011) and Wishon 575 MMC CB.  I recently found a fantastic deal on a set of new Miura Giken CB-1007 heads so that will probably be the set that I build next. The whole set will probably cost me <$1,100 with KBS Tour shafts.

Do yourself a favor and check out the direct-to-consumer brands: New Level (902 or PF-2), Sub 70 (639CB or 699), and Ben Hogan (PTxPro). Very good irons at prices that are hard to believe. Not as easy to demo in the exact configurations you may want, though.
