I'd stay away from the 4 iron and look to hyb to cover the lofts lower than 24*. Wishon has it right in providing a set of hybrids that can be matched to the irons they replace, either matching the lie/ weight/swing weight and shaft of the irons OR.... being built to a progressive length with a swing weight and shaft change - a traditional hybrid. This is sometimes overlooked with the EQ1's. The irons get appropriate attention, but the Hybrids and Fairway woods of the Eq1 line are outstanding heads with the bendable hosels and weighting options to meet any intention of a custom build.

I found a set of the 2018 Forged Tec ONE blacks on here for a great price. Standard specs. I play my irons at +0.75" so it will be interesting to see how I get along with them. I wanted to experiment with ONE length but did not want to drop too much cash into it.

I’ve been playing a set of Wishon EQ1-NX irons and hybrids for about three weeks now.  It is my second foray into the Wishon EQ1’s as I tried them a couple of years ago, but didn’t like the 70 gram shafts or the JumboMax grips that previous set had.

 

This recent set is built with Mitsubishi OT i95 stiff shafts in the irons and wedges , and Wishon 95 Black stiff shafts in the hybrids.   37” playing length and 67* lie.  Night and day difference to the previous set I had.  This current set is an absolute joy to play.  
 

I am 6’2” with a 38” WTF.  I’ve been following Tom Wishon’s advice and building my irons with 3/8” gapping for years to have longer than normal wedges and short irons while keeping the long irons at a length that is easier to make solid contact.  I feel the single length setup is perfect for tall guys with long wrist to floor measurements.  
 

I’d say the single length philosophy is probably best suited for us big guys as I believe the longer wedges is the biggest challenge to get used to with single length, and it isn’t much problem at all for tall guys accustomed to overlength short irons and wedges.
