Best Putter Grip for Claw / Saw

Hi Guys, recently changed over to a modified paint / saw / claw grip. Have a Winn AVS Midsize grip on my Ping Anser and while its nice it feels less stable then when I play around with some other grips in the golf shop. 

 

Anyone gone this route? What did you find was the best putter grip to allow the best holding of the club and stroke? Flat Cat? Superstroke? Other?

 

Did you make any putter changes? Ie go from a blade to mallet etc?

I prefer the Garsen Ultimate. It's kinda like the SuperStroke Tour but with much better feel. I have a few of the SuperStroke Claw but have yet to toss them on a putter. Also interested in the new Lamkin Claw grip. 

 

Really anything that's round or flat on the front and backside works for me. Pistol grips are awful. 

 

As for putter change, no just stuck with that I'm playing just focusing on the grip.

Oddly enough I also use a modified paint/saw grip and have a WINN AVS midsize pistol grip installed on one of my putters , except it's set 90* left of normal... the flat side (normally the top side) faces the hole and is a good fit for my left hand and the tapered side (normally the bottom) takes up the space between thumb and index finger... just turn your putter 90* left, take your grip and evaluate.

I run the Ping Pp58 cord, but I'm more of a pencil hold with the right hand. I run a Craz-e or an Answer blade. 

 

My buddy uses a Deep Etched Paddle from Lamkin on a blade head and is more saw style.

 

I've gone through a few grips and putters...

 

Had a mallet with the Flatcat it was good but the head wasn't working for me. I ran the grip so the flat part matched the face and the skinny fit my pencil hold really well. 

 

On my 2ball I run the Flatso 1.0 and it's a great combo.

I switched to the claw this year and the SuperStroke Pistol GT 1.0 has been a pretty great fit. I didn't want to switch out my standard Ping PP58 midsize, but it became apparent that I needed less taper on my bottom hand. With the Pistol GT 1.0, my left (top) hand sits pretty normally in the pistol part of the grip, while my right (claw) hand has a nice flat part to rest on.

 

I think you really want to look into something that's less tapered and has a flatter front. There are tons of grips that fit that bill on the market.

I’m interested in trying a pencil style grip for a bit.  I love my SuperStrike GT Tour for the bottom hand, but would prefer something with a bit larger “bulge” for the top hand to fit between the heel pad and the ring & pinkie finger.  Anyone know of any SuperStrke grips that fit this description?

Probably the Claw 1.0 or 2.0 top hand will have a bit thicker bulge and bottom will be similar but the area is flat.

Do like this grip and want to look into it. Only issue is the Pistol superstrokes are supposedly around 86g (might be incorrect on the site) vs my current setup (Winn AVS Midsize and Flatcat Tac Svelte) are 75g odd. So will change the feel a tad... if anything would be happy to go lighter but heavier grip weight becomes and issue.

I am trying the Flatcat Tac at the moment and its a nice grip ito feel, has enough heft to it that I still get a nice feel off the putterface and the left hand sits well while the right hand has something flattish to rest against. Only issue is the quality is not great and the grip cap and grip at the top are separating after two weeks of use. I have just used insulation tape to fix it so its not an issue but its not great to be honest. Would expect more for the price

I use the Jumbomax 17" Flat, perfect grip for any type of claw / pencil grip motion.
