Cameron & Crown line rare?

Hunteruu

Recommended Posts

I'm curious on everyone's thoughts on the line overall as they were only offered by Scotty Cameron in 2016-17. Does this make them more valuable? I guess I should ask specifically about the 6m in left handed. The 6m was only available in 2017, and for us lefty's, it was literally the only option for us.

So a one year, only option for left handed folks, Scotty Cameron.. something worth a good price tag? Something to keep as a special edition?

Just looking for options and to see if I'm crazy for thinking it's a rarity for us lefty's.

I’d heard the main difference for this C&C Line = 33 inch shaft length (and correspondingly heavier screw-in weights, to get the swing weight back to ‘standard’/mainstream). But otherwise similar heads vs the standard retail line?

The concept of the Cameron and Crown line was to offer 33" putters, so if you like that length you might like playing that putter.

As for vale and, or, price appreciation, Cameron's previous 33"/350 gram putters have never been especially popular and, or have had high demand from collectors.

Agreed. The line was a dumb idea and unnecessary.

But it sold cause it was a scotty. At least the My Girl is semi unique.

I get that the 33" concept doesn't fit but a niche market if speaking in playing length, but wouldn't the smaller amount manufactured (especially the single models made for left handed players - Newport 2 in 2016 and 6m for 2017) make it a rare find?

I won't argue they don't seem like the most sought after line, and I don't plan on selling mine, but I guess I wanted to feel as if it were something kind of unique and rare. I mean, I have only ever seen a few for sale as a lefty.

If not, no sweat off my brow. It's a great setup for me and I putt well with it.

That might be true if the newer lines but some of the most popular and somewhat valuable OTR Cameron putters are the 33/350 ones. Ie milspec, studio stainless NP2, classic black ox and oil can NP

15 years  ago I remember guys buying 33/350 putters and extending the shaft so that the putter played at 34" or 35". But in recent years Cameron (and other brands) have been producing mostly 34/350 or 33/350 putters, so think the old 33/350 have less appeal than they once did.

My guess is that an old Cameron 33/350 without the sole engraved 33/350 probably sells for high prices, but most of those 25 year old putters with 350 gram heads were engraved on the sole 33/350.

The older 33/350 heads remain highly desirable because of their one piece milled construction and they're the closest thing you can get to the current tour putters in terms of spec without paying the huge prices.

With regards the the OP question, the C&C line wasn't rare but offerings for lefty's have been lacking for years. From what I heard was greatly beneficial to female & junior golfers to get into the brand.

What about the Mil Spec 33/350 putter in lefty so rare and valuable now

I'm picking up a 2016 Newport lefty Cameron Crown tomorrow.

Sure they didn't make very many in left hand going by sales are driven by righties.

Not similar heads as these have a thinner top line similar to the tour putters .

Rare in lefty version not mass produced like other runs .
