Ping i210 Successor, i225? Rumors and what would you like to see?

Now that i59’s have landed on the PGA tour and appear to be iBlade replacements, time to turn attention to the spiritual successor to the Eye2.

 

Rumors have said a 2023 release.

 

The i210 irons have had a phenomenal run at both the amateur and pro level.  But it is the last Ping iron with the elastomer custom tuning port.  So I would envision a toe screw on the next model.  Hoping for a clean cavity, am happy with the offset in the current set and hope they maintain a similar top line and blade lenghth.  Would like to see spin numbers come down a bit.

I can’t wait to play my set of i210’s. I ordered them in November, took deliver in February, but they’d been built +1” instead of my requested +1/2”. I sent them back to Ping to get corrected, which occurred, but Ping had them delivered to a residence in Florida where I only stay during the winter. They’re sitting, unopened, in a condo bedroom which I am not in.  I can use some extra spin, so I like the idea of that. On viewing, I simply like everything about the i210.

Same head with little offset........I believe this would be a hit!!!!!

Is this the new i2xx???? Similar head profile to the 210, but the cavity looks different.  Thought at first maybe the fill was removed from “i210” but I think it looks different than anything I’ve seen.  Maybe i200s old and worn w/ no paintfill?  I could be wrong.

There will be a successor, and it's the i230.

 

It's likely to be a Q1 2022 release, but it could be sooner.

 

That photo is a 210 above….

I was told yesterday that it’s going to be mid-late summer for i59 and late summer or early fall for i525
