Mercedes won the championships, but you went into races, and seasons, not being certain if Mercedes, Ferrari or Red Bull would win.  Until Ferrari got caught cheating, that is.  It was competitive.  This is not competitive.  So you need to be real interested in mid field battles(thank you Kevin Magnussen for helping there), or a kid like Bearman needs to be in the field to keep things interesting.  BUt it's basically to the point  where the question is Does Max crash?  No? Then he wins.

It's Max. If he went to Mercedes, he would still win. Lewis was next level when he came in, now it's Max's turn. He will get bored in a few years and move on to GT3, then Charles, Lando and George can fight it out.

But nobody at the front has been beating their teammate by 20+ seconds, that's just ridiculous.

And this is how the broadcasts have been so far - two or three laps on Max pulling away...then its in depth coverage of will Logan Sargent finish in 19th place or not.

I would love to see some internal data tracking the lines the drivers are taking and if Max is really that much better or if its the car as well. Its to the point where as good as he is, the car is just miles better than the rest of the field.

I don't think Checo is as bad as Max makes him look. If he wasn't in the Red Bull, he would still be in the points, but he wouldn't be second in the championship.

I do think Max is a few tenths faster than the rest of the grid. He's a pure driver, he spends more time in his personal sim than anyone else spends in the factory sim. He just wants to drive fast and it shows.

If you look at all 50 laps of the race, his lap times are tenths apart. His level of consistency is next level.

Example. 🤣

I saw a really cool bit where they had Leclerc's on board, and then Max's ghost car placed in the picture, so you could see what he did vs Leclerc(this was for qualifying of course).  At least so far we haven't had 20 minutes worth of crowd shots....

It will never happen but it would be cool to see Max in a different car each week and see how much he can get out of each one.

It's primarily Max, yes, but Perez is at least 50/50 to finish second, i.e., beat the rest of the field.  The car is that good.  Yes Max, would put an Alpine on the podium, but he doesn't have to.

Hamilton didn't dominate like this, though,(and wasn't his first championship mired in controversy?).

Yeah, like I've said, once Max hits the championship, he should have to swap cars with someone new every week. Maybe start at Haas and work up to Ferrari.

Then you get to see what Hulk could do in the RB20 and maybe get his first podium. 🤣

The car swap idea is what it would take to get me back watching! Plz pm if that happens or when Max leaves for GP3! Thanks LH 😊

I bet a lot of folks would watch it. If he has the championship locked up, why not? Albon gets the Williams into Q3, I bet Max could get that pig on a podium.

Max is the best driver given probably one of the best cars, but he would do well in anyone of them.

Also to the boring part because max is so dominating currently, was it boring watching Tiger win everything he played in?

I don’t have the ‘stats’ mostly bcs stats bore me, but I’d say Max is more dominant than Tiger ever was. I’ll also say for whatever reason, watching tournaments w/Tiger playing in his prime never bored me and current F1 does. Is what it is.

I've never really watched golf on TV. I might catch highlights, but even when Tiger was playing in his prime it isn't something that holds my attention. My wife enjoyed watching him play and was a huge fan but she barely plays herself.

Golf is something I can totally do myself, F1 is so well out of my grasp, the best I might ever get is the cruise to Monaco including race tickets.

I like the strategy, the pit stops, the fights for points. Watching Albon fight through the pack is something I could watch all day.

I’d say you are more the exception than the rule. Obviously a bigger audience would be had if different drivers won (I’d say more often, but it’s more like ever! 😝). I can assure you ESPN/Disney would love more parity at this point.

I said it as soon as Ferrari announced Hamilton that Carlos would be on fire. He said he still doesn't have a seat for next year, so he wants to show all the teams exactly what he can do.

The only other driver to win in the last 500 days. 🤣

Danny Ric given 2 races before giving his seat to Liam. Liam earned that seat last year. Now it's a fight for Checo's seat between Yuki and Liam. I'm still pulling for Yuki, he's awesome.

Seems legit. Also George has crashed on either the first or last lap of each of Sainz's 3 F1 wins. 🤣
