Absolutely. I’m a VERY casual F1 watcher at best. But that was definitely the most competitive (best) race I can remember for a while. As in Max wasn’t leading by 15 seconds + for 96% of the race. And what a coincidence, I watched it in its entirety!

Well, he did get a 5 second penalty and tried to slow down for Checo, but not quite 15 seconds. 🤣 

 

There was some solid racing. That's good news considering they have 9 more races there.

I found it interesting that Max talked a lot of 💩 about this race and it’s one of the few he didn’t dominate.

There was a lot of fluff, but it's Vegas. The race was solid, the rest of it was pretty bad.

I thought there was exactly the same amount of nonsense and fluff as any other race which is to say, way too much.

*the other day I was out in the wild wild west (the tour and and other main subs) and made a second post about not digging the big ol’ turbulators on top of the new Ping 10k driver. Some guy I never even seen b4 quoted me and said “do you spend more time dropping hot takes about not liking the turbulators or changing your avatar”? I had no clue who the guy even was! 🤷🏼‍♂️

Adrian Newey knows what he's doing. Wait until you see next year's car. They have had all year to develop it and no windtunnel or cap restrictions for overspending this year. Max could go undefeated next year, so buckle up. 🤣

That's a strong possibility.

But in 1979 everyone expected Lotus to continue to dominate with the 80. Turns out Chapman didn't know as much about ground effects as everyone thought.

The current car got Checo 2nd place and he's maybe 6th on the grid right now. They did one upgrade all year and Max was still 15 seconds clear of everyone. Unless they went in a very wrong direction, they have had all year with full budget and o focus on the '24 car. 

 

I think after the Valkyrie, it's clear Newey has a clue on the aerodynamics.
