Suggestions to replace Bridgestone J40 DPCs

I've been playing my Bridgestone J40 DPCs for about 8 years now & they are starting to show some wear. Thinking about replacing them by year end. I really like them so would be looking for something similar. I like the midsize & forgiveness I get from them plus they have very little offset; all of those are pluses for me. Seems to me like most forgiving irons have more offset than I like to look at. Replacements don't have to be new, in fact I would prefer to buy lightly used. Just newer with better grooves than I have from 6-iron down. What would you suggest I look at? Thanks...

Used Srixon 765/785 would probably fit the bill. They're plenty forgiving but they have a player's profile.

Interesting you mentioned those because they have caught my eye. Guess I'm on the right track!

Not in person but have seen pics. From the rear they look like twins of my DPCs. Have you hit them?

Perhaps a cleaner set of J40 DPCs. Great irons. Hard to beat.

 

Probably go ZX5/ZX7 combo if you needed something shiny.

not the pro, the 902 and regular 1126's tho, the 1126 feel great, have a great sole i could just never get used  to the transition.

I was also going to suggest the New Level 902 irons. They have more offset in the stock configuration (2.8 - 3.2 mm) than the J40 DPC, but I had my lofts adjusted weak and the offset appears to be less. My set has 46* PW, 34* 7i, and 24* 4i for reference. The 1126 PRO has substantially more offset than 902 and probably a longer blade length as well. I never played the J40s but have seen the 902 comparisons made many times on various forums. Don’t be afraid of this small company - service is top notch and the product is second to none.

I switched to the ping i210.  Really like them and it was an easy transition.  I will never get rid of my J40s.

I'd say look into the Titleist offerings as well... that sole grind is similar.  716/18/620 cb, 718 AP2, T100...  The Srixons are fantastic, little different sole design but  goes really well through the turf and feel is superb.  Also, maybe the newest Honma 747?  They show little offset and have sole beveling as well.

As a frequent player and still owner of two sets of J40 DPCs, I would say the New Level 1126 (now the 1126 Pro) is about the closest thing out there in overall design, blade length and sole width. One of my favorite features of the J40 is it is a forgiving iron without a thick sole.
 

You may like the Srixons, but the soles are wider, even on the 7 series. It is difficult to find a similar iron with a sole as good as the Bridgestones. So for an overall list, I’d say find another set and keep playing them, or look at New Level 902 or 1126 Pro. I might also take a look at the Mizuno JPX 921 Forged or MP20 MMC. The 921 has a similar blade length, maybe a little shorter. Both have similar toplines and sole widths.
