TPC Sawgrass, Bay Hill and Streamsong in early Nov.

Recommended Posts

Question for friends who know FL courses better. My group is planning a trip to FL in about second week of Nov. We are hoping to start from Sawgrass and finish at Dora Blue Monster. Can't miss Streamsong, right?

Any advice on courses condition around that period of time?

Also, I've seen too many nice courses versus our limited options. Do you have any suggestion on courses besides these three destinations?

Thanks a lot in advance.

The best itinerary will depend on how long you plan to be in Florida and how much you want to drive. It's seven hours in the car from TPC to Streamsong to Doral.

Streamsong would be my first choice from among the destinations you mentioned. Doral would be my last choice.

Are you flying or driving to Florida?

How many days and how many rounds do you want to play?

Do you have any budget constraints? The courses you listed are all expensive

Thanks. Man. We fly into Jacksonville, and will  stay in FL for 8 days. Will leave from Miami. Planning to play 7 courses. As long as we could get on, we want to try the best option along that line.

Got it.

Go on to Google Maps and map these out and select the ones that work best for you. This list allows for two rounds per day so its probably too much golf, but these suggestions are all stops along a route that makes sense and these courses are all among the best public access courses in Florida.

Day 1 TPC Sawgrass and Slammer /Squire or King/Bear at World Golf Village in St Augustine (There is on site lodging)

Day 2 Hammock Beach Resort in Palm Coast - Two courses and on site lodging

Day 3 Mission Inn in Howey in the Hills - Two courses and on site lodging

Day 4  Bay Hill in Orlando and Southern Dunes in Haines City (Bay Hill has on site lodging)

Days 5 and 6 Streamsong Play all three courses and stay on site. These will be the highlight of the tip

Day 7 PGA Village in Port St Lucie - Three courses and lodging

Day 8  Turnberry Isle (two courses and lodging) or Crandon Park and fly home from Miami

I played in southern Florida a few November’s ago. It was still VERY hot, be prepared.

I also disagree about Doral. I think it’s worth playing as the Miami stop. I mean we all grew up watching it every year for like 50+ straight years so it’s neat to see in real life. It’s also right next to the airport so that will be convenient.

I just realize that the weather is still very hot over there in mid Nov. So it made us reconsidering now.

Weather should be good and will likely get discounted rates. Streamsong is a must but it is in the middle of nowhere so plan accordingly.
