Callaway Trade Up/Trade In

For people who have used this offer in the past…how long does it usually take for Callaway to process your trade-in credit? 

I see that they received my clubs yesterday and I’m curious what to expect next.

I believe it is 4-6weeks after receipt of the club.

Maybe I've been lucky, but I think it's always been within 2 weeks of them receiving my trade.

The value of my trades should cover 100% of the purchase I made. I put the purchase on PayPal Credit so I’d have a handy way to keep track of it. I assume my trade credit will also be applied to PayPal so I can just zero out the purchase cost whenever it comes in.

Applied to pay pal credit?  Would be something new.

Sorry. I meant applied to my PP account which is the form of payment for my TU/TI order. I understand I’ll have to move it against my PP Credit balance.

I doubt they will handle this in anyway but a credit there.  Kind of like winning a merchandise credit at the club and expecting the pro to apply it to your account for purchases already made. I have never traded in at CPO but it does not sound like a reasonable thing to expect.

I agree it seems too good to be true, but that’s the way it works. According to this I should see my trade credit within ten days. 
 

I assume this is one of the ways they get inventory for their “pre-owned” site.

That does not say they will credit it anywhere but at CPO.  Does it?

Every place operates this way for trade ins including CPO, why would they be any different?

He has no balance with CPO.  It has already been paid by PayPal.  If that is how they do it thats great.  seems a little strange to me.

It says “payment will be issued,” not “trade credit will be issued” or “a gift card will be issued.” 
 

I admit I’m a new user of this offer but there are lots of references from members here who have used it to get new gear at minimal cost using this program. 
 

Even better, I ordered during a promotion where trade values were boosted by 50%. For instance I should receive $300 trade credit for a Big Bertha 21 driver. That’s roughly what I’d pay for a brand new one off the rack right now. It was quite tempting.

You don’t need a balance for anything. You pay for the item(s) you want up front with your trade in as part of the transaction. When they process your trade in the amount gets credited to your original payment. 
 

The gotcha with CPO now, which is something they used to be more lenient on, is that the trade in amount can’t exceed the purchase amount. You would either have to buy more stuff or you lose the excess.

Ok.  hope you are correct.  just sounds like a strange way to do it.

CPO/Callway refunds part of whatever your bought for the total of your trade as a refund. They do NOT add it to your account as 'credit'.

 

Thats why CPO is F'ing AWESOME. They dont pull that BS the other trade in companies do where you have to trade-in stuff FIRST and then wait for the credit. Callaway lets you buy what you want and THEN processes the refund after they get it.

 

Not to mention they dont haggle or nickel and dime you over condition. Whatever your trade total is - is what they will refund you. No questions asked and none of that 'oh hey this is value condition, not great conditon so we're taking off 20%' BS.

 

OP is correct, it will be a refund on the transaction.

Just traded in a couple of clubs through Callaway CPO for the first time (have bought a ton for the the last year, they're amazing), sent it in on 7th and was processed on 18th. Right in line with their 10 business days.

Ok...allow me to jump in on this with another scenario. You pay the total price of your purchase through PayPal Credit. Callaway refunds your original payment source after receiving your trade-ins. Now, after that, what happens if the buyer decides to return the item (unused) for a refund? Does Callaway refund the full purchase price? That would mean that they basically purchased your trade-ins at a higher rate than normal because of the 50% bonus. Am I correct, or flawed in my thought process?

Callaway offers a 30-day satisfaction guarantee but I don’t think that includes a refund. You can exchange the product or accept store credit. 
 

As far as I know they treat each transaction separately. My purchase was actually a separate transaction from my trade-in, and if I need to do a return that’d be another separate transaction.

I believe you can get a full refund if returned within 30 days as long as it is new, and unhit. Thank you for the clarification on my "scenario".

How did this work out? I just traded in two clubs for a new 3 wood and received double the value for the trade ins. If I return the new 3 wood in brand new never hit condition, do I get a full refund? Basically unloading my trade ins for higher value?

I may ultimately keep the 3 wood but just wondering

I didn't end up going through with it. I ended up hitting the new stick because it was killing me not to.

did you end up returning it? I was thinking about returning a fairway I got, but it was the only "qualifying" paradym item in my order and I don't want to lose the bonus
