Is there a way to:

Enter an item in a search bar or some where and get a notification if it comes up in the BST? Basically "watch for something" and get a text or email if someone posts it in the BST?

Next best(?) thing ? What seems to work is,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

 

Do your search, If it returns the results you want, bookmark it.

 

When you want to search it again, just hit the bookmark.

I use a desktop. On Firefox and Chrome there is a "star" to the right of the URL. One clicks on it and goes from there. Safari has some sort of "up arrow", also to the right of the URL. Click on it

 

I believe you use your phone (mostly) ?

 

I have an iPhone and, using its Safari browser there's an "open book" on the bottom. That's the bookmark icon.

 

Other phones/browsers, don't know. I seldom use my phone for the internet.

While this is probably the next best thing and KUDOS to you for bringing it up. It still requires you to continuously check the classifieds instead of being notified.

One workaround I do that requires two email addresses:

 

step 1: subscribe to the entire BST, configure settings to send you an email for every new BST post

 

step 2: in your email client, set up a rule that if you receive an email from golfwrx and has some key words you are interested in, then forward that email to another email address

Wow, you put some thought into this. Very good and thanks for the idea. But I'm retired ( for 3 years now ) and very seldom check the one email I have. Plus being 65 not to computer savvy anyway. Would never be able to figure that out.

Not all email clients forward emails (anymore).

 

Yahoo used to do it but stopped. No idea about others.
