Driver and 7 iron distances

60% seems about right. My total distance is about 160/260. Irons are Apex 21's so jacked lofts. 

 

Irons are more about consistency. My instructor had me back off to a shoulder to shoulder swing with irons and got much better center face strikes.

I’m not yet 40 and these are really close to my numbers, if anything, I’m a touch longer with 7 iron carry and a touch shorter with driver carry…

Long drivers of the ball that are short with irons usually don't compress the ball well and tend to be sweepers.

My p wedge goes about 155, my 6 iron goes 215, my 4 iron goes 245ish, but my driver may go 285 after a good hit, any suggestions why my driver seems so short, compared to my irons

You are playing irons with jacked lofts. Your PW is probably the loft of a traditional 7 or 8 iron.

I did my irons (have bender) to be 10-12 gaps.  PW is 124.

 

That is playing data from garmin last 10 rounds and not launch monitor stuff.

You can NOT hit up and compress a 7 iron unless it is teed up. 

Hitting up on a 7 iron when it is on the ground means that the low point is behind the ball. Having your low point behind the ball will result in either hitting it fat or hitting it thin except when the ball is on an upslope .

When the ball is teed up with a driver , golfers can have good results with either hitting up or down , although most will maximize results via hitting slightly up on the ball.
