LAB Golf Link Putter Arrived Today.

The DF changed my game when I got in 2022. Took my putting from pathetic (arccos was saying I was losing 6 strokes putting most rounds), lowered my handicap from 6 to 1, and delivered the best competitive seasons of my life.

But I am a member here, so obviously 2 years is long enough to start tinkering. Last year I started to struggle with distance control, and my DF rock solid 4-8’ putting faltered. Also, from fringe and very long (60’ plus) I have always struggled to make contaxt, to the point I either hit them fat or skull or top.

Long way to say, I think the Link might give me the best of the LAB tech inside 10’ but improve the distance control. Mine is in production. Hope to have it in another week or two.

Picked up a Link just to try out.  Lie was just bit off on the one I tried for me, but I adjusted a bit.  It was not what I expected at all.  I was expecting a weird feeling too light clicky/glassy putter.  But it actually felt like a pretty normal center shafted blade which was a good thing.  Pretty soft feeling, nice weight...looks pretty good.  I was impressed.  If it works, I will be really happy.

I was also impressed with the Link but not with the shiny weights on top of it which will glare at you in the sun. LAB needs to makes those in satin to match the putter head

I use a pretty traditional non interlocking grip with both thumbs straight down the top of the grip for the Link. I have found the more I think about the grip the more I tend to use my hands which is obviously not optimal. I think this just tends to be the most "comfortable" grip for my hands so I go with it and try to ignore them as much as possible.

Anyone have feedback on a Link with a TPT shaft at a standard length like 35”?

I just got a DF3 with a TPT and at first I didn’t notice a big difference but I’m starting to really like the feel.  However, I’m not sure if it’s going to give me better results than my Link.  I had a DF2.1 and tried almost every grip Lab offered and I’m starting to think I just might not be suited for a press grip/shaft lean.

I’m going to give the DF3 a few more tries but I’m considering selling my DF3 and stock Link to get a Link with a TPT shaft.

Can't give you feedback but perhaps the issue is aiming... some can aim a mallet better than a blade and vice-versa... don't know if you tried the DF setup, it's the same as the DF3 with the ball more forward. Good luck. Ordered a DF3 but like the Link, too.

Love my link with TPT.  Originally tried out a stock link and ended up ordering a custom with Accra shaft.  Made some adjustments to my setup and ordered another more upright link at 35 inches with the TPT.  I love the feel and feedback of the TPT.  Is it worth the $400?  I am not sure, but if I ordered again, I would still order with the TPT.  Keep in mind if you like to change grips find the grip you like and have them balance it with your preferred grip.  I originally had it built with the superstroke tour 2.0 but decided I like the tour 2.0 XL more and paid to have it rebalanced.

How do you get them to balance it with a grip not offered on their website?  I actually like the standard rubber grip on the stock link but I might like the Lamkin deep etched better

Email their customer service and ask them.  I asked and had to mail them the grip and they did the rest.  Just check to make sure they will do it and with a lamkin deep etched.

I'm not getting along with the standard rubber grip.  It's too small.  I believe if I replace it with one of similar length and weight I should be good as far as keeping the putter in balance (or very close)?

I emailed them and they said as long as I got a similar grip that was within 20 grams of a difference, then I would be good.

White putter.  Ballsy!  Looks good

Apparently it's a racist putter. 😀

I installed a Superstroke 5.0 which is only a few grams difference in weight vs. the stock rubber grip that came off it.  The bigger Superstroke is working really well with the Link for me.
