110g as per LAB themselves when asked about a 34" Link.

Just FYI, see below for shaft swapping issues, as per Angie at LAB.

"Thanks for reaching out! Swapping out this shaft yourself, or at your local golf shop, would significantly throw off the balancing of the putter. This is because the weight will be distributed in a completely different way.  Work like this must be done in-house to maintain the integrity of our technology. To answer your other questions, .370, and at 34", around 110g. Having said that, if you like your putter, I absolutely would not recommend trying this yourself. If needed, to get this process started, and to receive a work quote, please reach out to [email protected]

I'm sorry I could not be more helpful. Hope you're having a great week (besides this)! "

Thanks really appreciate it. Seems like a stretch given the link’s hosel and its just epoxy but maybe its not worth messing around with haha.

Most of the people I have seen that swapped to the KBS graphite shaft in different putters have noticed a decrease in swingweight so also keep that in mind.

Anyone know if the shaft is open at the top for counterweight inserts?

I plan on going SuperStroke Pistol grip but the weight is less than the stock rubber and I plan on adding a 25g countercore in the SS grip to get the weight close to the standard 98g stick rubber grip weight

Question for the link users, did you do their virtual fitting to get your specs?

I used the video fitting. Love my link.

Starting Point:

Link.1, 34", 69Lie, stock steel shaft, stock rubber grip.

Total Weight = 559.4g

Grip once removed and cleaned out = 98.9g

Raw shaft with no grip = 99.2g

Head Only = 360.5g

(Assume that the grip tape and epoxy accounts for the 0.8g difference in my weights.)

Raw shaft length with no grip in inches = 32 1/2" thus BBTG = 1 1/4" (if allowing 1/4" for grip)

Here's an interesting 'find'. The shaft is printed under the grip area with = DGCPTS200-405. I thought (I've no idea why) that the stock steel shaft was a KBS.

Thanks for posting, interesting to see their build specs. The grip is really heavy, even with the 360gm head I'm curious if the swingweight was fairly light just because of the grip weight.

Sam Hahn confirmed on their Facebook group that the black won't be out until next year at the very earliest (if ever) due to an issue with the coating durability.

I rolled the Link and Mezz yesterday at a PGA Superstore fitting and placed an order for a Link with the Accra shaft. Unfortunately they don't seem to be doing expedited delivery any more, so looks like I'll mainly be using mine for the indoor season if the 5-6 weeks proves true. It was crazy how good my lag putting with this was - absolutely everything within 4-6" of the line I wanted from the putter and within 1-2 feet of the hole. The Mezz was spooky from 12 feet - I went through a period where I felt like I literally couldn't miss, but found I was often hitting too down on the ball and causing it to hop - hence sticking with the Link.

Decided to pull the trigger on a stock Link to keep me going while my custom Link gets built (ETA of six weeks!). Holy moly this thing is ridiculous. Inside of 10 feet it honestly feels automatic. I can't wait to take it out on the course on Monday and will report back with a proper post-round review.

I'll have a pretty solid A/B test as I've been tracking strokes gained putting for my last ten rounds, and yesterday's round was a perfect "before" snapshot as I was stiffing all my approaches, but still wound up with four 3 putts.

Question for Link.1 owners.. I struggle to release the putter head esp under pressure.. Does the Link along with the no torque tech help with this ??

It does for me.  I’ve only had the Link1 for a few weeks but so far I really think it’s the easiest putter I’ve ever used to make a good stroke with and get the ball started on my line.

I’ve noticed when I miss it’s almost always speed and I most of the 4-8 footers I miss are on the high side because I hit my line with too much pace.  Don’t think I’ve ever been an aggressive short putter but I’m going to start trying to play a little less break with firm speed.

I think most of us who either own or have tried the Link1 putter will agree that when you stroke the ball and it's a dead-center strike, the feel of the Link1 is amazing and as solid as any putter on the market. I still make putts without having that dead-center strike though. I want to experiment with some other grips. My next grip will be a SuperStroke Wrist Lock. I install and remove grips with a compressor so grip changes are easy and you don't have to wait for the grip to dry before using. Taking off the grip is easy and grips are easily reusable. Great putter SAM!!!!

That’s why I bought mine today. Felt way better than the Scotty Camerons I tried

@Rearviewmirror and @WiscoLefty

There are quite a few black and white Link.1 putters on the LAB Golf Outlet.  3 pages worth in their own special section.  Maybe these are the ones that they found the problems in the finish with?  Factory Second Putters - Black/White Link.1 - Page 1 - LAB Golf Outlet

I saw a comment on Instagram that the screws may rust

I've not had an issue with the screws on my Link nor my Mezz Max, but I too have seen pics of rusty screws. A little bit of aftercare/cleaning after use will no doubt help. In any event I believe a read a comment about using some oil/WD40 as protection.

Is the rust unrelated to the black/white Link putters then?

So it appears that it’s either a 2 or 3-iron S200 shaft that was available in Japan and is described as counterbalanced.   Interesting.

From a website I found:

The True Temper Dynamic Gold Counter Point Technology (CPT) .355” Taper Tip golf shaft was specially made for the Japan Golf Market and is another addition to the highly successful world-renowned True Temper Dynamic Gold Series golf shafts. The shaft weighs in slightly lighter than the standard Dynamic Gold with the additional feature of counter balancing. The result of these features provide extra feel for the seasoned player who strides for swing perfection and optimal launch that equates into longer distance!

I just finished reading all 10 pages of the thread and it has been incredibly helpful.  I've decided that I'm going to order a custom Link but the only question that remains is whether I should spend an extra $100 for the Accra shaft.  There is some discussion about this above but I'd be really interested to hear what people think who have tried the stock shaft and the Accra shaft and what differences they found.  Is the upgrade really worth it?

Just my opinion, but if you are ordering custom then spend the extra $100. However, if you happen to fit into a 67/69/71 stock model then DON'T fret about missing out on the shaft. I've spent a lot of time with the steel shafts in my Link/Mezz Max/DF2.1 and a lot of time with the LA One35 in my Link. My opinion is there's a lot of difference in feel - not better just different. No idea about objective performance differences though. Steel is more than fine.

Again though, if you are paying the premium to go custom then add the Accra, else a stock model in steel is all you need.

Have fun with whatever you decide.

With the current 20% discount on custom putters that Golf LAB is offering, there isn't really any discount on going stock.  In fact, doing the math, I think with the discount, it's actually a few bucks cheaper.  Therefore, I'm going custom in part due to that.
