2023 New Srixon Staff (UPDATE)

2023 Marks my first year as a Staff Professional with any brand and my word did Srixon knock it out of the park through the bag.

I'm a highly particular player when it comes to my set up and every club is built to match a certain Spin rate and Carry Distance Window and my word is everything in the line up this year CONSISTENT. I'm quite a high speed and shallow player so everything but Driver is built to spin as much as humanly possible while keeping consistent launch windows

UPDATE 

 

Since getting the driver I’ve struggled with a setting and shaft combination that i felt comfortable with, so for now I’ve Settled and changed to a Ventus Blue 6x tipped 1.5” set to flat +.5* loft I originally had everything set to flat -1 which was the same i had in my Ping Forever and it just wasn’t clicking here are some flightscope numbers from my session. The combo feels good i can work it both ways if I smooth it its a nice little fade and chase it a bit it turns over, i also got a Tour AD DI 8X to build to see if moving up a few weight classes will help.

 

(Also the 3 wood is pulled to play both the Driving iron and 7 Wood, the courses we play on average i think I’ve hit 1 3 wood in 8 rounds.)

Very, very nice. Congrats on getting on staff. Love the traditional lofts and flat lie angles. Do you play a cut?

I think that new Driver looks really good... Love the shape in particular. Could be a dark horse for 2023.

I’ve been working on a cut for about 2 years I fade everything 7 iron up pretty easily 8 iron down I trap draw still
 

I haven’t I’ve got one on order though the Stealth is a unicorn it launches like a 6 iron and goes 255 it’s hard to beat. And as the putter goes the Evnroll just hit a cold stretch so I just wanted something else to look at and I have an affliction for weird putters

It’s really good in my opinion it could use a bit of hot melt just for sound it’s decently loud and higher pitch. Think older Nike VR tour or VR Ltd edition. But the numbers are silly. I played a G410 for 3 years and it’s easily 5-8 mph ball speed faster at the same play length

They're decently flat and sit square so the non adjustability isn't a complete deal breaker for me and I hate 3 woods normally

You mentioned being a shallow player. What's your AoA with a 7 iron on Trackman? How is the turf interaction with the very weakened lofts and the v-sole? They must have so much bounce I reckon.

I’m right around -2.2. I’ve always played quite high bounce irons due to bending everything back 3+ degrees. I didn’t notice much of a difference so far in the V Sole over my old T100’s that we’re 4* weak

I play the Standard Z Star in Divide and I like it a lot. I prefer the ZStar Diamond but as of now they don’t do it in divide so I don’t play it. The Divide ball has improved my putting so much that I can’t switch out of it. Mainly from the instant feedback on seeing a push or pull by it oscillating I don’t get nearly as mad if I pure a putt and misread it as I used to. That to me is the biggest improvement in my bag

Great bag! Busy placing my order for Srixon ZX7's with X100s... touch worried about spin so intrigued that you went between 2-4 up in lofts (weaker) did you have to have any mods to the sole grid or just the adjustment? Thinking I might need 1-2 weaker depending on the club... doing a gapping and spin test after reciept.

Think that LS is a sleeper - if I can get the right weighting on it (I play driver at 44") and I can still turn over a small draw its going in... ZX7 sits really open although I didnt adjust the adapter, may need to try that one with more weight in the heel. Love the matt finish

1. Can you share your yardages with us? Am very curious to see how far everything goes especially with lofts being so weak on the irons (can you share what your dynamic loft w/ your irons is too if you have it cuz i'm sure that is a very large reason why you bend your irons so weak)

2. Any reason behind why you play a driver that is designed to spin less if your main goal w/ the driver is to have it spin as much as possible? I'm not a fitter so am genuinely j curious about the thought process behind this

Answer to No. 2 First. I'm on the very high speed end and the only club I struggle over spinning is driver, I still this one around 2300-2600, if I played a low spin ball I'd struggle to crack 2000 (My average strike sits high and more toe sided) my driver sits around 126SS 187BS at 12 Launch 2400 Spin so far in my testing with this one playing a 12-20 yard fade 

 

My Carry Yardages and average spin rates with Z-Star  (all at Florida Sea Level on my FlightScope) I know for an average my dynamic loft on 7 iron sits around 25.5 to 26.7 I Lean the heck out of it.

49- 143 9,900

9- 159 8,850

8- 172 7,850

7 - 191 6,700

6- 206 5,400

5- 218 5,100

4- 231 4,200

3- 245 3,800

Utility- 258 2,750

Driver 308 2,400

 

With Roll this time of year the Utility Iron and the 3 Wood cover the same total Distance so i usually Favor a 2 iron in the winter and a 3 wood in the summer when carry is more necessary.

The bending to me is just something I've always done, so it wasn't done by Necessity, I'm a creature of habit and my first real iron set when I was 12 were Mizuno TZoid True Blades so I've always preferred something on the very weak side and I've done it to almost every set I've owned since then

The only set of Srixon I've owned before this were 945 Blades, on the feel end they're incredible probably the best feeling set of CB Irons I've owned besides my old 2008ish Cobra Pro CB's which to me are the best CB ever made

I’ll be interested in you impressions of the LS driver after you’ve played it for  a while. As others mention, could be a dark horse candidate for many.
