A question for those of you that follow the LPGA Tour. How long has my girl Lydia K been putting with a center shafted mallet? Did I see Brook Henderson gaming one too?

... As the resident Lounge I watch every LPGA event self proclaimed expert I don't think Rose Zhang is the best pic this week. But I do think she is the smartest pick.

... Lydia is an unusual Pro. She changes caddies and putters constantly. She has also hired 7 different swing coaches.

I believe I read that this is her 1st tourney with that Scottie...but she changes things more than I change underwear...

Just got back in from my attempt to exercise so hopefully commercials are limited.  That would be a new thing for NBC.

Looks like the top one is in the bag this week. Just ~3 months ago it was the bottom one

I am also a fan of Brook Henderson. I love her tenacious attitude. Her powerful driver swing is boss.  It's also petty cool that her sister is on the bag. What a fine Canadian team !

chisag if you had to take a guess, what weight and what flex do you think she plays?

... Most of the ladies use 80 or 70gm Steelfibers and quite a few FC's. I believe Lydia uses 70Fc's. 

... I absolutely love Brooks swing! Her motion reminds me of Rickie Fowler because both have such a free release. It's no wonder they both like hitting their drivers with their free wheeling swings and at 5'4" and 5'9" they are both silly long off the tee for their size. I see so many hang on through impact and never fully release the club so I often have them look at Brooks swing. I am not talking about a powerful hands forward shaft lean that compresses the ball like many on the PGA Tour, I am talking about holding on through impact, usually because they over use their upper bodies resulting in a weak slice.

That it's it coach. It is because of her extremely free release. Thanks for putting it into words, and thanks for telling us that is also what Rickie does. 

I myself swing very free with driver, but some days I find myself not fully releasing it. This happens more often when I play courses with tight tree lined fairways. We have remind ourselves to trust it and let it go.

... Nelly took 6 weeks off for a back injury and her first tourney back she missed the cut. Historically she plays crazy well after a bad tourney. Evidently history may not be repeating itself as she is +4 after her opening round. 🙄

Brooke came out strong early in the season but been kinda back and forth.

 

Lydia's been way off since the marriage.

One of my earliest memories of this was being a very young kid and being in the room while my grandpa was watching the NBA. Imagine constant yelling at the TV “that’s traveling!!! Back in my day you got one step! 😡”. 😂
