I guess that's why he brings the 550 instead of the La Ferrari. Hard to park them perfectly straight while using drift mode to "slide" them in.

At least they don't back into the spots.  <Start Get Off My Lawn Rant>  I don't understand the infatuation with backing into parking spaces.  In both the parking garages and outdoor lots at my work, I estimate ~20% of the cars are backed in.  We aren't hosting a car show every day and I'm quite sure we don't have that many first responders.

I usually board the company bus at least 10 minutes before departure in the morning and it's comical as I watch someone take almost a full minute doing the back-and-forth car boogie to back into a space when it would've taken a few seconds to go in straight.  All it means is that when they door ding someone, it'll be in that person's rear door instead of the front door.

Of course, the silliest sight is in lots with one way traffic where the spots are diagonal and people back in even though that points them the wrong way for leaving.  I just assume they enter the lots the wrong way and exit the wrong way.  <End Rant>

Down the hill in the Fairhaven Historic district (read touristy) (all my favorite watering holes are there) all street parking is angled and it's hard to come by on a weekend.  Quite the zoo.  So a lot of folks drive slightly by an open slot across the street, and then back in.  It is illegal so I often see them with a ticket on their windshield.

Studies show that ppl suffering from anxiety tend to back into spots. In an emergency it makes for a fast getaway! 😜

Next town over is a tourist destination with a narrow main street. Street parking is angled, back in only. It's not working.

... I went on several golf vacations with the Sales Mgr at my radio station that grew up in the Robert Taylor Homes* on Chicago's Southside. I pulled into the parking lot at a very nice seafood restaurant and he said "He!! No. Back this MF in."  Too many gang shootings in his past and he needed a quick getaway if/when the shooting started.

* The Robert Taylor Homes faced many of the same problems that doomed other high-rise housing projects in Chicago such as Cabrini–Green. These problems included drug dealing, drug abuse, gang violence, and the perpetuation of poverty. Planned for 11,000 inhabitants, the Robert Taylor Homes housed up to a peak of 27,000 people.

Everyone in Japan backs into parking spots. Little old ladies can do it first time, every time and perfectly spaced between the lines. It’s easier to see cars when you’re leaving.

It’s also easier to do in a polite society where drivers stop, knowing you’re going to park and don’t try to rush behind you while parking, then give slight nods to each other instead of giving everyone the finger. They even let people in from side streets if traffic is slow. Imagine that? 😉

That is a good point... for backing into angled parking.  I drive a sedan and too often I angle park between a pickup truck and an SUV and I can barely see when I back out.  I edge out at the slowest possible speed and there's always some idiot in a hurry who swooshes right by my back bumper... possibly wanting to be in an accident to collect some money.  It's maddening.  Not to mention the stupid family that walks right behind you while you're trying to maneuver your car delicately from the parking spot.

Oh, and the long-bed pickup truck parks 3 feet from the curb...

... Too many bells and whistles on new cars but I do enjoy my rear camera and a warning signal if any cars, bikes or humans are approaching. One day I will have to look into the remote parking function because my Homa approved GV60 can park itself or pull out of a parking space on it's own.

Complete opposite in China. Pedestrians and bicycles have no right of way. They will absolutely run over you on a crosswalk and just keep on driving, and the people behind them will run over you too.

The Philippines is flat out crazy. Cars all over the road, but no one hits each other. They don’t have a “Stand your ground” attitude. 😉

Man, big city cops deserve it. I can’t believe any NYC cop can last 20 years to retirement.

Imagine… you go to work, first thing in the morning you go see a woman beaten half to death by her boyfriend. Then after lunch, you go see children living in squalor.

Then, you basically get lied to all day by thieves and maybe one robbed an old lady.

And you do that day after day, year after year, add some murder, rape, and bloody violence that comes every month.

I just don’t see how these guys and gals do it.

Love how the Titleist heads in the group got to talking about just which irons were in his bag. 🙂 I am going to do my best to get a photo of Lawrence's woods, hybrid, and putter tomorrow.

Mr. Titleist Blades' team shot a 5 under 65 today and is currently in 4th place!

Format:

Round 1 – Net Better-Ball of the Twosome (85% of Playing Handicap)

Round 2 – Combined Net Scores (100% of Playing Handicap)

Ties for the overall Champion will be broken in an on-course Sudden Death Playoff.

Ties for the remaining places will be broken by scorecard playoff.

Teams will be placed into flights for Round 2 based on scores from Round 1.

I think half of South Florida is populated with NY & NJ police and fire dept. guys on disability. They spend their days playing golf, washing the Cadillac and cleaning the pool.
