Hit the 22* at a demo today and it looks great and was really nice medium flight, solid feel too in the stock shaft. Sleeper for sure.

I have a feeling the 19 hybrid will be finding its way into the bag to replace a trusty Callaway X2 hot pro that's been in that slot for 7-8 years.  The two clubs share the same classic shape which is very important to me and rare to find.  It should provide a bit more forgiveness and distance, which would be ideal.  Only negative is see is that there are few shaft options, with the only 80 gram option being a hzrdus black rdx.  Would much prefer a mid/mid shaft option

The stock option is a mid mid and AskGolfNut on YouTube  who has some speed was hitting the stiff version just fine. I’ve got the x on order

Only change that I’ve made is throwing in an Aldila 2KXV Blue X in mine. Have the 22 turned down to 19.75 but playing at the 3H length (.5 inch over 4H)

That’s an interesting build. Does it slot between a fairway wood and iron for you?

And those Aldila Blues are such a fantastic hybrid shaft.

Yes, goes between a 15 degree TSR2 that flies 235 (245 if I go after one, 225 if I try to cut one soft) and a 22.5 T100 that flies 197 (205-210 if I try to step on it and draw it then 190 if I try to cut it). The hybrid goes about 215 but I can try to hit a draw and it will go up to 220-225 or lay off and fade it and it’s down in the low 200s.

My natural shot is a fade so if I close my stance, my draw ends up being a pretty straight ball that goes a bit farther. Open the stance a bit more, get more height and spin.

Great breakdown. Thanks. i really like the looks of that club. What I want is one set up to cover that 200-210 slot. I’ve got a 7 wood that goes 220 no problem and a Mav Pro 23 degree hybrid that I play at 39.5 and is non-adjustable. I like it at 190-195 with a smooth swing. Those are nice compact better player hybrids BTW. I go from that to a 5 iron. I can sub in a forgiving 4 iron for course conditions (Maltby KE4 MAX or Apex DCB) but the Mav Pro has surprised me as I haven’t always done well with hybrids. I don’t like the boxy ones.

I want something that I can count for 200-205 carry to a green even if I miss it a bit. Am thinking the Mizuno 22 degree set to 21 and playing at 40 could do it.

I’d say it’s a strong option. I have the TSR woods but just thought the TSR2 hybrid looked too big and still want the ability to hit a back of stance 50-60 ft peak height line drive under the wind if needed. I’ve kicked around putting both a 7W and 2/3 utility iron in the bag but both just seem one dimensional on the ends of the spectrum. This set up allows me to to do both of I need, and if I need a bit more loft for soaked conditions, I can bump the loft up slightly.

Recently picked up the STZ 230 22* w/CK Pro White 90TX to fill the gap after MP20 MB 5i.  Originally installed an old Accra XH85, used it one round with mixed results (high launch, low spin) so I went with something that launches lower with more spin much like the 4i it's replacing.

Previously had a TSR3 and think this is much better looking, sounding and performing. The thing goes straight, hot and high. Shaping looks so perfect it went in the bag.  The stock UST shaft has a cool colour change from dark blue to purple, just wish it was heavier for me.

Very first shot was 207 flag over water, wind slightly out of right. Drilled through the gust onto the green.

Used it out of a fairway bunker and it launched very easily.

Had another forced water carry out of rough, cleared easily

Par 3 225 back pin dead into wind, buttoned it but seemed to stall at apex and fell just short of green. Probably should have used the UW.

Honestly Mizuno have ticked all the boxes for what a player's hybrid should be.

I have a 19* STZ 230 and so far (one round in and two trackman sessions) it does pretty much everything I want it to do. For me, I use it as my next longest club after my driver so I like that it is fairly "hot". It doesn't turn over excessively, is pretty forgiving around the face, launches high and is mid to lowish spin for me (3300 - 3700) so it can GO. The only thing I could see is that it might not have quite the stopping power of some other hybrids I have hit but I also hit a draw so I have a few things going against me there. Really a great club and immediately replaced my Callaway Rogue in the same loft.

Update to my previous post, I love this hybrid. I am now 8 rounds in and I have to comment on the adjustability of this hybrid because I have never had an adjustable hybrid. First, here are the hosel settings courtesy of the website:

image.png.15692e1d90411d07047896a6a12bc2aa.png

So I was curious, how much could these various settings ACTUALLY change results. Well, a lot actually, let's check out the numbers I got (all these are 10 shot averages):

image.png.5f5c367a8a2170bccef61d5f89363359.png

The difference in carry between the highest loft and lowest loft was 13 yds and the difference in total yards was 15 yds. The most upright setting did, in fact, produce the most draw bias. The highest loft did have the highest launch, etc. It really is like having a few clubs in one and can give you a lot of fitting options depending on who is playing it. Really digging it.

I found a mint 19* at PGATSS, grabbed it for $150 out the door after testing it in the bay. Super tight dispersion but spin was a bit too low… I was averaging 2600 with a draw carrying 200 with a rollout of 30 yards…. I grabbed it for the price and will tinker some more.

Any updates on this hybrid? This might be my next Mizzy purchase. Looking at 19 that’s between my 3 wood and 4 iron.
