Don’t think she’ll be playing next week. Field looks closed.

Her current priority status is not great. Next tournament might not be until Lotte.

maybe one of the invitees will drop out?

@Argonne69 Any idea who has recently withdrawn from the HSBC WWC?

I see that from the Reserve List... Jenny Shin and Maria Fassi (previously on the Alternates List, as #1 and #2 Reserves respectively) = have bumped/sneaked into the main field...

(albeit the eagle-eyed amongst you will notice the "60 automatically exempt places" = now "61..."!!)

There are a couple of interesting stats going into this tournament. It's being played the same week as last year on the same course. Won by JYK but the lowest round of the tournament was by Minjee (63) and that was her very last round played there. Koreans have won 6 of the last 7 years there and the seventh by Wie of Korean heritage. Jeeno in betting here is 10/1 with Lydia favorite at 5/1  but Jeeno played well there last year and on form I pick her to be the one to beat. I expect Lydia and Nelly will be thereabouts again with a question mark for a few of the other top contenders.

Great broadcast times again for us 3.30pm - 8.30pm each day commercial free the only downside is 5 hours a day of Kate Burton again I guess....😟

Bettors pay close attention to recent forms; they pick Lilia Vu and Maja Stark as fourth and fifth favorites.

Michelle Wie's win in 2018 was a nail biter that Michelle sank a 36 feet putt at final hole to win.  Jenny Shin, Brooke, Danielle Kang and Nelly, all here this week, were T2 and one shot behind.

My field rating for this event is a rock solid 74%. Like last week's tournament, this will be one of the strongest non-majors of the year.
My breakdown is 80% from the LPGA Priority List and 68% from the Rolex Rankings.
This is basically the same field as last week with the only big change being Charley Hull is out and Jessica Korda is in.
Thirteen of the top 15 players from the world rankings are teeing it up (No Charley or Lexi), and 21 of the top 25.
The field rating loses a few points because its not a full field event and lacks depth, but best players in the world are here.

Only four players have finished in the top ten in each of the first two tournaments of the year:
Nelly Korda
Leona Maguire
Maja Stark
Ashleigh Buhai

We had a record breaking 11 first time winners last year, and Lilia Vu becomes the first one this year.

There was no movement in the top ten of the Rolex Rankings, but some big moves elsewhere:
Lilia Vu makes the most important move this week leaping from number 33 to 12.
Maja Stark moves up from 32 to 24.
Jodi Ewart Shadoff rises from 55-46.
Maria Fassi makes this list again, moving up from 93-87.
In what might be the biggest move in years. Vongtaveelap Natthakritta moved up an amazing 379 spots. She moved from 470 - 91.

World Top 3; Lydia, Nelly and Minjee are in the same group and last out of Tee #1:

Pairings look a lot more what you would expect this week. Lydia's last week was absolutely appalling for a RR#1 and also given her most critical old caddie Jason Hamilton was in her group as well! I take it the LPGA does the pairings ☹️

Who is Jason Hamilton caddying for?

Last week it was Patty Tavatanakit. I rate him as Lydia's best caddie and one of the best on the LPGA. I still think his comments on being fired was justified and one of Lydia's or her teams worst decisions at the time. I think it's in the past now though as he has caddied for her again since.

Folks might be interested to know that Singapore is also hosting the "Women's Amateur Asia-Pacific championship" this month (organised by the R&A).

This is the 5th iteration... Atthaya Thitikul won the 1st edition in 2018.
