I have a gift card to new balance and wondering if someone give recommendations/opinions on the

I have Fresh Foam Contend shoes and I like them. Lightweight, comfortable, stable, with great grip.

I have an old pair but I forget the exact model. They looked like the old standard NB shoes (those grey suede-ish ones) but were white. Comfortable as hell, and they held up for quite a while. I will likely stick with NB golf shoes for a long time.

Their golf models that resemble their popular casual shoes are, IMO, the best walking shoe for golf. Extremely comfortable, very durable and very modest price comparatively speaking to other brands. I have 8-10 pairs of more expensive shoes that I don’t want to put the wear and tear of walking on so I only walk in the new balance.

I have had several pair of Striker V2's. They are very comfortable but the general durability of the shoe and the longevity of the waterproofing is questionable. More of a "disposable" shoe in my mind, which is fine because I bought them in the $60-$70 range.

Recently diagnosed with flat feet and have bouts of plantar fasciitis... my podiatrist went out of her way to specifically recommend that I buy the New Balance V3 Stryker model.  Can be had for around $100.  So far, so good!

This is my experience with New Balance golf shoes also.  This year I'm going to try to "waterproof" them again but if that doesn't work I'll still wear them when it's dry.

I ended up getting the fresh foam contend. Fits well and very stable base but not as much padding as I expected. Kinda gives me the thought they would break down if walking in them. But being one of a dozen plus golf shoes I have it will fit in!

Thanks.  Look at a pair of Pumas but the Brighton keeps calling my name.  Have to find a place that has them to try on.  Buying shoes blind doesn't work for me.

It’s been a few years since I have bought pumas but one season bought a pair and a whim and felt so good purchased a second pair with a month. The back part inside heel wore on them but were comfortable as hell.

Yeah.  They seem to work for me so not sure why I look to change.  I walk a lot so need something comfortable.

Adidas is my go to. Always fit well, comfortable and last but always venture off to try others.

I've tried on most of the new "athletic" type golf shoes and the NB Brighton is my top choice. They are super comfortable and seem to be an excellent walking option,  are quite supportive and are spiked - they check all my boxes. They even look ok for this type of shoe. They will be my next purchase.

That's been my experience with New Balance golf shoes, comfortable to walk in but tend to break down too early, usually in the inside heel area, while the rest of the shoe is still in good shape.

I did this at my local New Balance and their shoe scan tool was incredible. I have wide feet, so they got me set up with some Fresh Foam Contends and I love them. Super comfy and give me enough grip to rotate really well. I haven't walked a round in them, but range sessions and a couple of cart rounds have left me impressed with these!

I'm used to Spikeless, but this season I want some spiked shoes for wet weather.

 

What shoes seem best from NB? It's looking like Defenders vs. Brightons.

I think since the nubs on the sole are firmer it makes them better on the turf, but not so much on tile..

I'm not worried about wet socks, I'm worried about grip in extreme wet conditions while walking up and down hills. Hence my comparison of spiked shoes.

They grip great. Played in wet conditions for 2 weeks and didn’t slip one time.
