He is sourcing from some of the same manufacturers that the big golf companies are using. His first venture was a member guest at a nice club here in SoCal and the feedback/response was spectacular everyone loved the sizing and quality of the product.

The gear looks nice and the prices are right for sure. Too bad though, good boy golf is such a horrible name. I'm not sure the branding is for everyone.

Totally fair, I have heard one other person say something to that affect...I personally think the logo is awesome and like the name. It is also not branded all over the place very small placement.

Ya, the logo is cool. Just the name for some reason rubs me the wrong way. Its like a compliment for a dog or something. I dunno, I'm old. It may appeal to the younger crowd or something.

Honestly haven’t looked at the logo but the name makes me think of dogs. Not that that’s a bad thing but just don’t know if the name is for everyone.

For sure, I get it. Thanks for the feedback! The owner is an amazing guy who is really trying to just put out quality golf items at a great price point. If there is anything anyone would like to see let me know and i can talk to the owner...also if anyone is apart of any charity tournaments or club events he can put together really cool custom items for the event...he did a polo for the most recent m/g and the print had the clubs logo all over the polo...so if ordering in big numbers he can get very custom. Also, put together complete swag boxes not just polos.

I like the idea behind the company with somebody trying to reverse the trend of higher and higher prices for performance apparel.  The designs all look similar to what is trendy at the moment.

 

I do not like the name or the logo, and so I wouldn't buy anything that had any of the company branding on it.  Maybe if the branding were limited to an initials only "GBG" tag on the sleeve or something, then that would work.

 

I think it's interesting to have a place for a golf tee on the polos, but I don't like the current placement.  I'd prefer it on the sleeve if it was going to be anywhere at all.

 

Because it's a new brand, I would want to know much more detail on the products like material and a better idea of the fit.  I won't buy clothes without knowing the materials because I avoid anything with cotton due to the heat here in TX, and I tend to avoid things like nylon.  If it has spandex, then I know the stretch will be probably be pretty good.  And I tend to like slimmer fits and slightly shorter sleeves, but I can't tell any of that from the current descriptions.  So right now, I don't have enough information to consider these.

 

Just my opinions.  Hope you can use this as constructive feedback rather than judgment.

Thank you for the input. I will relay back to the owner of the company...I just got my first order and very impressed with the quality ( I will try to gather more information on what material it is). The polos fit true to most other brands...I am an XL in most every brand (being a L in Peter Millar and XXL in G/Fore) The sleeves are on the shorter and slimmer side for more of an athletic fit that i really liked. The material is definitely breathable and not hot. Live in SoCal and wore it on a low 90s day. 

 

However, the items that stood out to me were both hoodies...especially the range session drop hoodie. Extremely comfortable and will be worn a ton starting in the fall and around the house. 

 

Really appreciate everyones feedback on name and logo. I get it just like everything else it is not for everyone, but think he has done a great job to start.

 

I worked a charity event on Friday for Good Boy Golf in the afternoon and it was high 90s and once again the shirt was not too warm. The feedback from the local community was very positive and people were buying a lot of gear.

I agree Good Boy sounds like a dog brand. Selling biscuits or toys for dogs. 

 

Also this thread stinks of you either being on payroll or working on commission 😄

In fact the black patch logo is a copy of bad birdie.  Same size and spot.  😬

I like supporting small shops that market reasonably-priced products, so I ordered a hat on Wednesday ... still hasn't shipped.

 

Edited to add: Owner just reached out personally with an update.  Pretty impressive.
