Or that someone like Trevino many say was "the" elite ball striker set earlier relative to those two?  Copy Jack, copy Tiger, copy Lee - but Nicklaus always made the point (even though he admittedly couldn't explain his own swing sequence very well - see "The Greatest Game Of All" for his tortured description which he later said wasn't really very good) that when he talked about what he thought he did or what he felt that was what worked for him and we should all do what works for us, just like the good pros and other good players do.  Surprise.

I would say Jack's ball striking was pretty 'elite'.

Me too!  I always get a chuckle out of people discounting Jack and on here over the years it was "trendy" to try and claim Tiger wan't the best ball striker, lol, vs. quite a few others.  Sure, always the quotes from guys being nice and supportive who were awesome but will say Lee was the best or Hogan and so forth, and with a lot of different people saying it there had to be something special there but darn right Jack was an elite ball striker.

I watched Lee and Jack who were paired together at TPC Tampa Bay about 25 years ago. I was more impressed with Jack to be honest. He was 40 yards ahead of Lee all day and pretty much pured every shot. Couldn't get the putter going though.

Examine Moe’s transition move.
Moe may be non traditional in his setup and the very early part of his swing and may describe his swing in  unusual terms , but his transition is as good and as classic as it gets .

1.External rotation of lead hip causing his lead knee to also rotate in the same manner

2. lateral movement of the left side of the pelvis and the left knee.

His lower leg is very close to vertical by the end of transition and over his lead foot

Note he has abetted this lower body movement via a flared left foot

Plenty try and get to p6 because a lot of pros look similar and most amateurs have the dreaded gap.to me this is something that seems almost unattainable for me at left arm parallel. Hips squarish, chest still partially closed, knees pretty level but the clubhead still on top of or even passed the head depending on club.

This is true.

It's very easy to overpower those forces.

It sure is, it’s one of the first things a baby learns to do and they naturally have great sequencing.  Shortly thereafter they learn things go down, then they learn down faster, then they explore the horizontal components.  If golfers thought like babies, there would be a lot more happy golfers, then a lot more mad golfers and inevitably a lot more sad golfers, all during one hole.  Fortunately babies have terrible memories.

If the club wanted to fall behind us so bad, we wouldn’t have a million videos on how to shallow for the 90% of amateurs who get steep and come over the top.

The weight of a driver is about 0.7 lbs. The arms weigh about 20 lbs in a 180 lb man. In transition, the clubhead is moving relatively slowly… I just don’t buy the concept that it exerts meaningful force down or behind us due to gravity. Most ams have trouble lowering their 20 lbs of arms fast enough.

OK, maybe Moe didn’t help much but he knows for sure.  In .25 sec, gravity will drop any unsupported weight 1 ft and achieve a velocity of 5.5 mph.  If a bigger shift is required the golfer will need to add to the vertical speed, 3-5 mph added early will produce a 2-3 foot vertical shift in .25 sec and achieve 8-11 mph vertical.  AMS struggle with everything, including tension, sequencing and direction.

The problem with gravity is that it gets a slow start, not that it isn’t meaningful. If the earth had twice the mass, the golfer could simply allow the shift and focus on alignments.  Those are the planets we should be looking for.

The "experts" use gimmicks to sell videos and lessons. The band aids don't make people better they make people worse. Then they are told by the "expert" that it takes weeks, months and years to get better.

I am curious who the "experts" are who do that?  For instance would this be an example?:

If not then  perhaps you can provide a video of an  "expert" doing the terrible things that you say they do?

Well, she didn't make the cut at 1st round of Q School and has no status now.

Nicklaus learned from Jack Grout who learned from Henry Picard who learned from Alex Morrison.

I think that Percy Boomer said something along the same line.
