2023 TaylorMade Spider Tour Series Putters

Stopped in at my local GG to buy balls and made the mistake of picking this up off the rack. I’ve never played a CB putter before but really enjoying how this feels. It’s so stable and the weight seems to help my hands relax and keeps me from pulling the short ones. Excited to hopefully get it out on the course soon!

I agree! I’ve been lookin for more info and it’s hard to find. I did find this with some digging so I would guess the CB’s are 380 grams. 
 

 

I took the cap off the grip expecting to find a counter balancing weight in the end of the shaft or a super stroke weight but there’s nothing. Just some grip tape and glue. Depending on how the speed control is I might play around with some super stroke counter weights.

A lot of the new SS grips (Zynergy series, etc.) have the weight caps in for those who want to add the weight insert for the 'CB' effect. I would have assumed the Spider CB would have come with the weight insert as standard in the long grip...

 

Good on you to check as I'm sure many are assuming the weight insert is inside!

 

You can purchase the weight inserts fairly easily, but don't over tighten them! (Past personal experience).

Going through the MyTP program for a spider tour. Does anyone know the true color of the golf ball yellow color? from the looks of the computer graphics its more green than yellow. But when you look at their golf tour response stripe balls, the yellow and lime are totally different than the graphics for myTP. I have spec'd a gunmetal body with black tru path. Do I just select the lime green color option thinking it will be like the lime stripe golf ball? What would you do?

On a previous putter I had the golf ball yellow was a bright neon yellow color much like their yellow versions of the golf balls.

After Scottie missed a relatively easy 8 footer, Rors basically said he’s had his own putting challenges over the years, and felt that as he’s committed to a mallet, it’s forgiveness over a blade has made him a more consistent putter of the ball.

 

He went on to say he would like to see Scottie go to a mallet as well, but caught himself and laughed saying selfishly maybe not, as ‘Scottie has so many other advantages’ ….

 

It was a pretty cool moment.

 

Well well, maybe Rory will rue the day after his commentary - Scottie has made a switch (We'll see if it lasts)....

 

Not sure what the 'X1' denotes (X3 is the short slant/X7 is the double bend), but I suspect it's a 'Tour Only' plumbers neck which is his preferred next style, and similar to the 'Proto' model he used briefly last year.

X1 is the plumbers neck model. It’s not available at normal retail but is available through the my spider custom options.

I asked TM support and they stated the finish is PVD on the My Spider.

Tried the tour x this morning for the first time and feel in love immediately. So stable. 
 

Order one right away. 
 

However, i would like to make an estethic change. I would like to remive the black line on top by using acetone. 
 

do anyone know if the acetone will remove the white from the true path at the same time?

I’ve been a blade putter my entire life, most notably the Del Mar headshape. I found myself just missing the line all too often any more and figured, if it worked wonders for Scottie, I’m sure it can also help us mere mortals. 
 

Was averaging around 33 putts last year. Never sniffed the 20s. 
 

two rounds thus far with the spider, I went 31 and 27 putts. The confidence within 8 feet is incredible
