May River Bluffton

Hello,

Has anyone played May River recently?  Trying to gauge course conditions. Would be playing end of February next month. Curious if it’s worth the price of admission.

Haven't played recently but was down there last February. Played the first week and the course was immaculate.  Weather was mid 60's and overall was just a great place that time of year.

Only downside is it requires a stay at montage I believe.  The hotel is beautiful but expensive.

Right. Rooms are about 600 and golf is 3+. Give or take 1000 for the round. Pricey round.

I have a friend / neighbor that works there so I get to play it quite a bit.  About the only time that course isn't in perfect condition is when they punch, and they won't be doing that in Feb.
They're opening up a new short course that is supposed to be amazing.

Yeah I saw that. The Crossroads. Should be open already I think. Its members only however.

On my list of places to play. I’ve heard nothing but great things about the property.

I was fortunate enough to stay at the resort and play May River. One of the best places I’ve ever stayed at and the golf course was fantastic.

I am putting it on the wait list for now. I’ll have to come back and check it out.

Have harbortown, heron, Atlantic dunes and haig point booked for now. That should do me solid.

Let me know how Haig is.  I haven't played there in a couple years and heard the conditioning is slipping a bit.  
Although Feb probably isn't the best time to judge it....

Every year I go to HH, and am like "Gotta play Haig". and Every year, I find one reason or another not to play it.  *sigh*

Haig was great. A bit on the pricier side. $305 with tax included and ferry pass. Course was in great shape. Few spotty crabgrass around some of the collars but the course was great.

Definitely do it. It’s worth it. They did have those no see um bugs. I have a vanilla spray I use but still got bit a bunch. Course was great.
