CBX4 or CBX full face

I’m trying to decide between both. Anyone try them? Reasons for one vs another?

Any performance difference between the two would be negligible at most. Very seldom (hopefully) would you be hitting shots that far off the toe that grooves would help, if they even would. I’ve yet to see any test that shows the grooves in the edge of the toe improve performance on shots struck there since generally they would be shorter shots. However, there are sone that swear by them.

No, the sole grinds and bounce are the same.

Price is the reason I bought the CBX Full Face and OG Zipcore.

I have a CBX Zipcore, CBX 2, and CBX Full Face but no CBX 4. Just did a quick comparison and the FF has a slightly taller toe than the others.

@bekgolf have you noticed any on-course differences (feel, distance, dispersion/consistency) between the various CBX models you have?

I like the CBX 2 and Full Face the best but they are very similar. I went with the CBX wedges when I had to go to graphite due to elbow issues. I dislike the CBX Zipcore the most but that's splitting hairs because they are all forgiving. I usually make square shots with them, ie I don't open the face. If I was interested in opening them up I'd go with the RTX or a other wedge.

Like I posted earlier the closeout prices are very good deals. I'm not someone who buys new equipment when it's full price because it always seems to go on sale for half price the next year.

The CBX4 has a very dynamic sole grind to it, much more effective bounce than any other Cleveland offering. A generous leading edge grind really sets it apart from the rest and looks like it will lend itself well to partial shots and chips. I would wager a guess that anyone who has issues chunking chips/similar should definitely give this a look.

I only use my full face wedge in my lob wedge (58) as I open it up more and will use the grooves, everything else is traditional. I have a CBX Full Face 2 for wet winter conditions for the higher bounce, and RTX Full Face 2 for regular conditions since i prefer the thinner sole and less bounce when conditions tighten up. I also keep the CBX around for when my confidence is low hitting out of bunkers as hitting a square faced shot out of the bunker with it is pretty automagic.
