Bought a Scotty Cameron Circle T Putter

I recently bought a circle t putter from someone. The putter did not come with a COA or a headcover which is strange. I asked him if he was the original owner of the putter and he said that he had bought it from someone else. This putter has been gamed a bit and I was thinking of sending it in for restoration but my biggest concern is that I purchased it without a COA and I have no way of knowing if it was stolen or if he purchased it from someone else who simply did not have the COA. As I said normally these putters come with a COA and are sold with that COA, thus my concern. I feel like I might be overthinking this a bit, I would like to hear some of your opinions.

It’s possible it came from a pro, and in that case it wouldn’t have a COA. No cover could just mean it was sold separately. The real question here is did the person you bought it from act in a way to make you think it was acquired through shady means?

Did these thoughts go through your mind before spending a few thousand dollars on a putter?

Could be fake, could be stolen, who knows.

 

If you dont care about any of those things sent it to a third party refinisher.

Throw up a picture of it and you will know fast if it is real or not.

Without pictures of the putter in question there's not much help that can be given. Post a pic, it'll be fairly obvious if its legit or not.

Yah we need to see pix. 
 

But for what it’s worth they don’t always come with coa.  Often they’re lost etc.  that doesn’t mean much in of itself. But pix are necessary.

I have several that are older, were gamed that never had COAs.  They did have covers, though, and were gifts from those who got them directly from Titleist/SC.  One is a red dot and the other has a CT stamp (no milling) and are hand-done putters.  Sent them back and got COAs.

 

If you send/take it back to Scotty for COA and it is real, they will sell you a CT head cover.  You can also take it to the store to do so.

 

In any case, I would find out if it is legit soon.  Any recourse to the seller will expire if you wait.

Not all Tour putters come with a COA, so as others have said, that's not a big deal.
Also as others have said.................POST PICS.  Hard to give you advice on authenticity or help you determine if it was stolen without see the putter.
Did you not consider these things when you purchased the putter?

I have two.  One with COA and one without.  Both have been looked over by Scotty Circle T distributors and are real.  But both are still in near perfect condition.  Send it in to Scotty for reconditioning and they will tell you whether or not it's real.  Pictures will not help any of us to evaluate it if it is a really high end knock off.

Yes you can send in but i disagree with the inability to tell If it’s real or not by sharing pix.  There are a few guys on here that are active on the Cameron site that actually id trust more than some of the workers at the CS.  

 

Yes ultimately the CS is the one who is judge and jury on authenticity, but betcha it’s not necessary
