2008 Nike SUMO2 Tour

there are no pics. at least no real live pics of the face. only pics were the usga pics and the ones kj and stewie played. if you have one, why can't you post a pic of the face?

 

edit: i'm not trying to be offensive about asking for pics from anybody. i'm just curious as to why so many people have high praises of this club yet they haven't even decided to photograph and show their own setups. i'm sure it looks the exact same as my 5900 with a few differences, but what i'm most curious is the face of the club. historically, nike has released all their retail products with black and white paintfill whereas their true tour products were white paintfill only. so i'm curious if these are literally the exact same cosmetically as the tour iterations (which i assume they are).

I agree the best driver yet out of the Oven..just as with everything else from the Oven....the quality gets better each time.

Each driver is better and each iron set is more solid that the previous...as they say the likes of Taylor and co have "got it going on"

man noone near me has no idea what this driver is, I told them to call Nike and etc, these are all custom 360 fitters as well, does anyone know anyone who can order me one ASAP? I am sure some shop out there would like to make some $$$

I had the Cobra L4V driver, and after hitting the Nike Sumo2 tour there is no questions to me the Nike is much better club. The ball flight was much lower and you could still work the ball as needed. Distance for me was longer with the Sumo with less dispersion. The sound of the Cobra L4V was terrible, even different playing partners I have golfed with, could not get over the sound if the Cobra. The Nike muted the sound nicely from last year,which they had to do. I tried selling my L4V driver at my course and nobody really cared for it, so I put it in on E bay and sold it there. The Sumo2 tour is a definite try. My buddy ordered one with a diamana blueboard and was told that they are out of diamana shafts at Nike, and will have to wait till May 5 before shipping. If you want another shaft it would not be a problem getting them out.

I am still waiting for a driver to kick my sq max (the tour issued one with the face of the sq tour) out of the bag. This is the best driver nike has released to date in my opinion. The SUMO2 Tour does look promising though. Does anybody else have one on order? What shaft upgrades, and how long to deliver?

Edwin Watts quoted me 505.75 shipped but a 1.5 week delay b/c of shafts, I said find me any shaft thats ready in a 9.5 or 10.5 head b/c the Fubuki is going in it ASAP...........we shall see :russian_roulette:

Not sure why someone posted that the L4V is louder than the Sumo2 Tour because it's not. If anything they are both fairly close in sound.

sick of the g10 and when simon dyson was playin at our club he was showin me his and it looked great. he said when he went to dallas they only had one head available at the time it was so limited so he took it.

After looking at the 5000 and 5900 descriptions from the site and various sources, I think the difference is this (at least in the reading)

 

The 5900 has the cup face and variable thickness technology -- the 5000 does not. It has variable face.

 

I assume that since the Sumo2 Tour has the shape of the 5900, that is has the latest tech for tour players -- so it has the cup face and variable face thickness.

 

Probably the reason why the 5900 is $100 more dollars.

 

At least that is what I get from a reading of everything I've found.

 

I need some spin -- so I'm looking at a 5900; or a G10 (lol) when demoing.

its been available since April 1st and even some Edwin Watts stores have them and if not they can get them, it is not as limited as everyone made it out to be.......but yes the MOI is 4900

I noticed that you play a NV75s in your Sumo, how is that set up? What's your ss, tempo? I've been tempted to try that in mine since they are so cheap right now. I wanted to try that and if I like it try in the Sumo2 Tour!

Nike Golf Europe does take orders for this now. Just contact your local proshop for a price quote and time frame.
