How often do you wipe/clean your irons/wedges?

I wipe my clubs after every shot. I start with a clean towel made from the finest Egyptian cotton. I wet 27% of the towel with distilled water that I carry with me in the cart. I wipe the face of the club in an east to west fashion at a rapid pace making sure to maintain a constant pace with firm pressure. This normally does the job, but in those rare cases that it doesn't I carry in my bag a 6" brush made with a Beechwood handle and Japanese hedgehog hair. Instead of the east to west motion that i use with the towel, I use a swirl pattern while applying light pressure to the brush. This finishes the cleaning phase and I move on to the drying phase. To dry the club I insert it into the solar powered dryer that is attached to the back of the cart. In 30-60 seconds the club is dry and ready to be placed back into the bag. This whole process only take 3-5 minutes depending on the amount of dirt on the clubface. My rounds usually last 5-6 hours because of this, but my clubs are always in pristine condition. Hope this helps, good luck!!

I must be neurotic but I clean my clubs, or irons specifically, after each shot.

Wow, I think I could get some of you a job at my club if you clean clubs as well as you say.

I clean mine some during the round, but certainly not after every shot. And then the bag room guys use dirty towels (or maybe I should say dirty rage) and dirty water on them.

I probably clean the grips and give them a good once over every 6 weeks or two months.

I wipe my irons/wedges after every shot and have a brush in the bag in case I get dirt in the grooves. When I get home I run them under warm water and use a scrub brush to clean the grooves.

I'm the exact same way. I don't keep them perfectly clean on the course but I wipe them with my towel after my shots, but when I get home I give them a scrubbing. You don't need soap or any special cleaners... just water and a firm bristled scrub brush.

i chose 'right after a round' in poll...but only because right after every shot was...not a choice.

I have a towel that i have attached an after market brush to middle of....so every shot i do the old spit on face, scrub quickly, dry off, put away.

No need for a big clean up that way, takes literally less than 10 seconds. Every half dozen or so rounds i scrub the grips and thoroughly clean clubs.
