Hibore XL With Fuji Red Fit-On shaft Stiff if your a stronger swinger (Fast Tempo , Aggressive Transition) with a swing speed of 102-110 mph. this shaft has a high kick point which will bring the ball down if you have a high trajectory. I can honestly say this is the best OEM shaft i have ever had, i compare it identically to the ProLaunch Red S on my G10 3 Wood.

Hibore XL With Fuji Yellow Fit-On shaft Stiff if your do not have above but still have a 95-105. It s lower kick point shaft gets the ball higher if you have a low trajectory.

I've been testing new drivers around nowadays. I was able to narrow down to three great drivers. TM Superquad, Hibore XL and Srixon Z-RW...They all performed great for me. Also the prices were all reduced recently. What would you pick if you were in my situation? Any feedback or recommendations?

Thanks.

You cant go wrong with any of these, so long as the shaft suits your swing. I tried the HiBore XL Tour for a while but that didnt suit me whereas the Superquad TP was much better with lower spin than the XL. The swing seems to determine spin just as much as the head. Good luck.

definately the superquad. not only is it best looking, but my buddy has an xl andd hates it. i tried it and it is not as consistent as the superquad. the superquad is also top 3 on tour.

i had a hibore XL, i have a burner now, both had proforce v2 in them eventually. My friend has a superquad with the stock shaft in it. My favorite setup of all of them was the hibore xl with the red fiton s flex. I had the v2 in the hibore for a month and i took it back out and got rid of it. the hibore XL is so solid, im looking to pick one up sometime soon and keep the burner in the closet.

ive never hit the srixon club outside... i hit it into a net and it felt solid as hell, i just couldnt see what type of results i was getting really.

Tried all three and I gotta go with Robo on this one...Srixon all the way....my L4V is in the bag for the season I think but in the back up is Z-RW and Mizuno MP-600...

I loved the look of the super quad but just did not feel comfortable with it...at all! Absolutely know consistency with my favourite shaft (Speeder 757). The Hi Bore is nice and you will get plenty of ball speed and forgiveness with a great trajectory (stock red shaft). However, the Srixon is sneaky long with classic set up and very nice feel. As an example with the Srixon's stock stiff shaft (9.5*) I was able to hit draws, fades, and straight (weird for me!) but it was as long as the L4V (I am going to get blasted by the L4V lovers out there for that one!)...just not quite as forgiving on mishits as the L4V.

I am playing with the 9.5 and 10.5 heads with different shafts...sort of looking for the back up driver when the magic of the L4V leaves me for a while...The look is as good as the MP600 which is why I think I may move the Mizuno (gasp...did I say that) to a new home!

Good luck in your search...

Ken

I hit the Srixon Z-RW yesterday and I was surprised what a great driver this was. The 8.5* sat a couple degrees open, face was explosive and forgiving - couldn't believe it! Not to threadjack, but does anyone have more experience with this club?

I have the Z-RW 10.5 with the V2 pro in it cut down to 44.5. Saying it's sneaky long is putting it lightly, the ball jumps off the face of this club and the sound is sweet. It has a very classic look and can be worked both directions with little effort. This driver doesn't get much buzz at all, but it won't disappoint!

I hvae been gaming a XL Tour 9.5 w/ Diamana Blueboard and it really is point and shoot. low spin and medium trajectrory for me. nice combo. I hit the TM quad and it felt nice but just spun way too much for me and my swing. can't comment on the srixon, but the XL tour does what I want and id very predictable and that's good enough for me.

I tried both the superquad and the z-rw when i was looking for a new driver this past winter. I chose the z-rw and after about 20 rounds with it so far, I couldn't be happier. As others have already said, explosive face and pretty forgiving. On top of that, the shape of the club head really suits my eye.

Stock shaft for the z-rw is Fujikura SV-3104. I have an Aldilla NV 65 (stiff) in mine.

  • 1 month later...

I tried the XL outside and the ZRW blows it away for feel distance and ball flight(I tried the ZRW w/3 different shafts). I only tried the TM on the monitor and the spin figures were out of control so I dropped that one from the mix. The ZRW w/Accra SC was the best combo for me and I tried it with a VS proto, I would rate this #2 and the GDI W60, this would be in 3rd place.

The ZRW is just as long as the XL but better ball flight and feel. Today I hit the XLS next to my ZRW just to make sure I had made the correct choice, well the ZRW was 10-15 yards longer all morning. And the feel, its like a forged head. Give it a try for the money you can't go wrong. BTW check the site Srixon has plenty of shaft options, many at no charge.

Good luck

Hi-Bore XL Tour blew me (and the other OEM's I demo'ed) away.

I Liked the Srixon a great deal, very good head that played well but just did not deliver what the XL did.

TM SQ was not a good fit for me at all, had to do to much manipulation to the head to decrease ball spin and did not give good numbers.

My top 2 were the XL Tour and the FT-5 Tour, Srixon is no slouch.
