I am a 7-8 handicap and I play the Taylor Made R7 TP irons.

I have hit all the player cavity backs..forged and cast.

These are the best for the high single handicap.

Mine rule. Again I have owned them all, and these are the winners.

I would never play blades and give up a shot or four during a round.

Those irons are for scratch handicap golfers only imo.

Playing Callaway X-Forged Project X-flighted 6.0

1.2 (up from 0.2) and I play Callaway X20s (these are NOT X20 tours) with 5.5 Rifle shafts. When I put these in the bag last year, my lowest handicap ever was 1.4. This year, I fell below 1 in May and stayed there through September with two big (for me) tournament wins.

 

Rocco Mediate plays the same clubs.

 

I played forged CBs for three years prior. The X20s are incredibly forgiving and very workable (see Rocco's video on the Callaway site).

Macgregor VIP 1025MB. Look a bit funny, actually frankly they look a bit rubbish, but every time I think about changing them I remember that they actually are really good clubs that I get on really well with!!! And also pretty forgiving for a muscleback - when I do finally get round to changing them I will probably go for a cavity or a pro combo equivalent (KZG Evolutions, ideally) but for now - why change...?
