How do you mark your golf balls? (Merged)

I dot the second i in Titleist with an orange Sharpie & orange line from < to >

usually a blue dot in one of the dimples under the #s and a blue putting sight line on the seam from <to> and halfway around the ball, and on the rest of the seam i write either "seeya!" or "bombed!"

Used to mark them as "LOST", "BUNKY" or "OUCH!"

 

Previously, I didn't use anything since oddly enough I was the only one playing either a NXT Tour or PROV1x in my usual foursome.

 

Now that I've started playing the NPDSS due to the Consumer Review article, I may do the dot or straight line thing. Maybe even cover up the entire number on the ball with black ink. I just hate scrubbing Ink off of my clubs. 409 usually takes the marks off, but until I clean them the marks remain.

 

 

aaahh the beauty of having chrome clubs a little spit and elbow grease gets it right off....but your ping heads last longer anyway.

i use a green sharpie (my wife loves green) and i put 4 dots around that ball ype on the side and then a green line on the other for putting.

Am I the only one who found comprargolf's journey into OCD amusing? The image of this ball will be haunting me, almost taunting me to mark every dimple of my future balls!

 

Me . . . I mark a flower on each ball to remind me of my daughter (as if the note on my steering wheel to buy diapers on the way home isn't enough :) ). Plus, it makes my wife more accepting of the $40/dozen habit when I play the daughter card. The bonus is, guys who would otherwise swipe my ball on those rare incidents when it winds up in the rough are less inclined to steal a flowered ball.

weird, me too. I've been doing it for about two years now. I figured no one really covers up the number of their ball . . .

 

wait, when you say over the number- do you mean above it? I color in a blue dot "on" the number, so my golf balls are Titleist blue dot's or Nike blue dot's.

 

i cover the number, i used to have a black dot, but i joined a new club and the current club champion had a black, so i went to blue

My first name initial, "W" underneath the brand name/logo on both sides.

I play ProV's, so I circle the number on both sides in black, and draw a red line through the Titleist Pro V on the side.

This is how i mark my ball-with a black line-m-up over the model and a black dot over the number. I also use my scotty cameron pitch tool-just the stock one :) i would love one of the clip ones! I used to use only the quater doller coin from 1974 but i am just back from a tirp to scotland and i like these markers. Also i think tiger said this and i thought it was a good trick. I mark with the quater heads up and if someone asks you to move it flip it over to tails so you know that you have moved it.

Pretty simple myself, mark a black dot in the middle of a dimple either side of the number. Just a plain old permanent marker.

I print in block letter my three children's first name initials, in order, oldest to youngest, in red sharpie directly underneath the ball name. The initials read: PEJ -- for Paul, Erin and Jay. Sorry, no pics yet.

I put two horizontal blue dots on the seam on the opposite side of the side stamp. The idea is that they are eyes looking for the hole.
