I though I was going to have the most till I read martin's post.

I've had 3:

Age 13 - 132 yards 8 iron.. a low one that rolled until it hit the pin and fell in

Age 16 - 151 yards 7 iron... straight away, 2 hops and release center cut.

Age 17 - 176 yards 6 iron... straight away, hop and realease in the jar. I actually thought it went over the green until I checked the hole and was shocked to see my titleist in there.

Makes me realize how lucky i've been reading a thread like this...i've only really played 3 solid years of golf.

I've been close many times but they've never dropped. My closest was on the lip (literally about 1/2 a centimeter from the hole). I thought it was going to drop, I was praying it was going to drop but it stayed up!

One of my mates has had a "Hole in one" before... I was with some mates in a 3 ball on the 10th tee, the 9th hole is an uphill par 3 with a blind tee shot. My mate in the group behind his his tee shot through the green, on to our tee, so we picked up his ball, as a practical joke, and quickly ran onto the green and put it in the hole. He was ecstatic about it and was celebrating so much that nobody had the heart to tell him what actually happened.

I have never had one, but my closest one I flew a 3 iron that landed exaclty a putter's head length behind the hole, and just stuck in the pitch mark. Of course its very hard to spin a 3 iron back, so odds are it didn't have a chance anyway. But you can believe my heart was in my throat as it flew through the air and stuck there.

I had one at a really crappy par 3 course, the hole was maybe 50 yds, so I don't know if it really counts. The closest I've been at a real course was in a junior tourney when I was about 12 yrs old, I hit a 1 iron from about 180 super thin, it hit short in the rough and bounced up on the green and tracked towards the hole and disappeared...into the shadow of the flag. I thought it went in till I started walking towards the green and I saw it sitting a foot past the hole.

13 yrs. 3/4 PW on a 124 yard hole. didn't think it went in at first thought it went over the green, but got up to the hole and looked in and was amazed what i found in the bottom of the cup. best experience on a golf course besides meeting scotty pippen, different type of excitement. was to young to buy drinks.

I had my first one YESTERDAY!!!!!! Perfectly hit... I mean... slightly thin 9 iron on a ~160 yard par 3 (pin in front, slightly downwind in case people want to question my distances). One hop and in!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

To make this even more enjoyable, it happened during our mens club opening day tournament. There was no hole-in-one winner last year, so the purse (~$2500) was rolled over to this year. Assuming no one gets another one during the season, I'll have made myself cool $5K :D :beach: :cheesy: In the worst case, I'll have to split the pot :cheesy:

I got my only one after 14 years of playing in a company tournament in 1996. It was a 152 yard hole and I used a Ping Karsten I 8 iron. Beautiful trajectory, landed, rolled over a ridge and broke right and into the hole. As it was over a ridge, I was not sure it went in or not until getting up there but it did appear to have rested against the pin before dropping, or so it seemed from our angle. Another guy in teh same tourney got one 8 groupe ealier on teh same hole but his was a bit more dramatic as it careened off teh edge of the bunker and ricocheted onto teh green and in.

I got one other at a pitch and putt course and was only about 50 yard so I never really consider that a true hole in one although by definition, it is. 152 yards is a little more exciting, though. I have made eagle putts, holed out from fairways before for eagle and chipped in for eagle on par 4's so I am always proud to say I have eagle each different par hole - par 3, par 4 and par 5.

I've been lucky enough to have had 2 holes in one. The first was in 1989 and was a 108 yd SW and I spent about 40 bucks in the clubhouse for drinks. The second one was 1999 and was a 217 yd 5 wood. 3 holes later another guy in my group had a hole in one on a 155 yd hole. We split the 130.00 drink bill after the round. 2 holes in one in 1 group must be rare. I am due for my third hole in one in the year 2009. :partytime2:

308yd par 4 dog leg left to right downhill ;). Did it about 3 months ago. Little fade over the 15m gum tree on the right of the fairway. Thought I'd hit it to long, thinking I'd lost ball in hazard and was almost resigned to a lost ball when my mate found my Titleist 4 Pro V1x in the hole. Ye-ah! Ended up having -4 for that nine (playing for school and that was only the amount that we could play that day).

I've had 4. My first was the very first time I played 9 holes (hit a thin 5 iron from 134 yards), one in a tournament, one in a scramble that was the only skin out, and my last one was playing by myself at my home course so they believed me.
