Top of my list are Wilson Staff FG49’s closely followed by the Mizuno TP9 and TP11. I’ve played with the more modern mizuno blades since  and now have a set of MP20’s. The look is phenomenal, however not as buttery a feel as the older blades. Possibly the steel was slightly differerent composition back in the day.  Never tried the hogan medallions but hear they used to be nice

I had a set of Hogan 40th Commerative irons or something like that (35th) which I figured out were a rebadged version of the Medallions sold for the Japanese market. They felt great, but the offset was horrendous.

From the 60's thru the 90's muscle back blades had a relatively small head size. For the most recent 20 years the muscle back irons (from all manufacturers) are of much larger head size

It's the Nike VR Pros. Tried a few now but always come back to these - all the benefits of blades you would expect, and a level of forgiveness that you wouldn't. As long as you aren't so far out on the toe that's you've run out of grooves they will perform as expected.

 

Other notables I've tried:

Hogan Apex 99

Nike OG Blades

Mizuno MP-14 / MP20

Vega VM-01

 

All buttery smooth, but not quite as easy to live with as the VR Pros.
