Best Blade Irons Ever

Mp 14 and 29 s. My new mp 29s will be ready tomorrow. Played Wilson fg 51s, Ram tour grinds, Cleveland's in the 588, TA1 chrome and gunmetal versions, another set of 29's, Mac Gregor tourneys(those were not my fav) cobra Norman grind... Great for super small heads. Tried to find a decent set of TN 87s but never could locate a set. Settled on black oxided mp 29's instead. Always liked that gunmetal look.

I've posted these everywhere else so might as well stick em here too

Those are sweet, where can you get them?

You can't. It's taken me 6 months to find some. They came up on eBay and I had bought them within an hour of them being listed ;)

Those fourteens are beautiful :)

Well here is one for the thread...

The grinds on these fourteen's are on the top of my all time lists. I could write for hours about the grinds. The artistry of the lines. The unique grinds on the back side if the blade. The perfect size heel to toe. The feel etc. The finish is one for the ages. I will post a full gallery of these later...

Easyy, when and where will the Fourteen blades be available? I fell in love with these irons when they were first posted. I might have to sell all the furniture in my house to get them. ;)
We will find out. I got a set in and I am speechless. I got 5-pw with the 3,4 irons as their driving irons. I can not tell you how impressed I am with the lines. The grind on the back top toe is so impressive. The satin and the frosty texture on the groove area is so good. Heel to toe is close to the MP-64 so it isnt crazy small either. Just unbelievable how good they are in person.

I have a set of these en route from Japan to get Recoils put in. If they play as nice as they look...oh baby.

MY favorite? MP 32. Easy to hit, workable, feel great, what more do you need?
top 3 worst Mizuno ever made- try anything else, ie, 29 , 14, pro II, true, 57, 33, 37, 100, etc, 32 is their bottom feeder! Saw about 8 sets at Roger Dunn a few years ago for sale-

Bottom 3 out of the best irons made to date that you listed still isn't bad.

i don't know never played blades, but i fell in love with the mizuno mp 33 when i first laid eyes on it 6 years ago. I had been playing golf for about a month, and took my first trip to the golf store. I walked in, looked around, and I found the mp 33s. I thought to myself these are what i need to be playing. To say the least its been 6 years, and i am still a 14 or 15 handicap. Saw a set of clean mp 33 at golf galaxy last weekend for 157, and almost bought them. I might sell my idea pros and just say to hell with it and start playing them. There is only one way to learn to play blades, and that is hitting them. Good move?

yep, just do it

I'd have to agree. Doeet.

I stumbled on this by accident. I was researching a replacement blade for my mizuno mp67. They are my first mizzy and i love them. Anyway i have seen a lot of club love and its terrific. Its what keeps the manufacturers in buisness. The old vs young debate is a bit foolish to me. Im old. The guys playing today are bigger faster and stronger. Their clubs today make it better for all people to play. Just like when we drag raced...you ran what you brought. I dont care what clubs the other guys in my group play as long as mine work. A man is only as good as his tools after all. The courses are harder now too. They are long and fast. The error in both gentlemans debate was my fellow old guy thinking everyones on dope and our guys were better. Some would be able to compete but not all. We had our nancy boys too. We left our legacy be proud of it. Embrace the new tecnology and stop being an old coot. Its a game. As for the 30 something...clubs dont make the man and neither does his physical traits. Its his character. The guys today are not pioneers or gentleman and they lack respect for the game the fans and their families. They are ego and dollar hounds. You youngman should have stopped debating and been respectful enough to let him have his opinion. Hes earned it right or wrong. Id even go so far as to have you apologize. That said i hope you enjoy the game and find better things to get excited about like the beer cart girl. By the way im keeping my mizzys. I dont like a lot of the new ones.

Well, since the beginning of this thread to now, I've gone through a couple more sets of blades. I still have the VR TW's and the MP 14's as backups, but I'm currently using some tour issued (7 plug) raw Adams MB2's with X100s. I've since sold some 670s and some (nonconforming) Miura tournament blades. I also have a set of Titleist 681s incoming, which means I now should sell the 690MBs... maybe one day I'll be able to collect all these sets like Easyyy.

Wow, old thread still has life!

I vote for the MP-33s. Best balance of all the rest of the MIzzy musclebacks.

Although, I just put a set of MP-59s into the bag....perhaps they should be called MP-33.2.0

Well, I have to say that I own two of the most BEAUTIFUL set of irons ever. Both come to us thanks to the help of a man named Tom Stores. 1999 Hogan Apex Blades, Original Nike forged blades.
