Only a few to choose from:

Sedona Golf Resort is pretty good. Not as dramatic of a layout as the website makes it seem, but still a fun parkland-type course.

I prefer Oakcreek Country Club. It's tree-lined with tight fairways but a fun course. I haven't played either in several years, but I've played both and Oakcreek has always been in better condition. Both courses are going to run you $80-100 right now.

The high-end private Seven Canyons Golf Club is offering tee times to the public at golfnow.com, but the place is in a money-strapped mess right now. Check out the dead fairways in the pic in this article from several weeks ago: http://www.redrocknews.com/News/members-upset-with-seven-canyons-golf-club.html - With the course in that condition, it's obviously not worth the $110 they're charging the public.

About 30 minutes outside of Sedona near Cottonwood is Verde Santa Fe golf course. I played there a couple years ago and was impressed with it considering the price. It's not as high-end as the Sedona courses, but it's fun course with great views of the surrounding valley and mountains. Should be about half the cost of the Sedona courses, too.

Yeah, if you can score a $55 rate to Seven Canyons, take it. $90 might be risky still. If I remember correctly, you drive past a few holes on the way into the clubhouse, so if you see brown fairways you can turn around and skip it.

I got to play Seven Canyons shortly after it opened. A really good course, but a few too many boring par 4s hurt it IMO. But there's a stretch of 5-6 incredible holes in the middle of this course that would make the green fees worth it.

Can you post here if you play any of the courses this week and give an update on the conditions? I want to get up to either Prescott or Sedona for golf in the next couple of weeks. Thanks

If you find yourself short on time yet still want to play, check out this fun little executive course. Its called Canyon Mesa Country Club, and its only $25 for 18 holes. Here's some pictures/mini review. I always play it when I go up there, which is about 8 times a year.

Dude, that looks like a cool course! Haven't been up there yet, it's on the list though.

A coworker told me today that a friend of his played Seven Canyons this weekend and said it's in great shape. Hoping to go up there in 3-4 weeks and try to get that $50 rate on golfnow. That's an absolute steal if it's back to being in good shape.

Keep us posted...I wouldn't mind joining you if it works out.

Was wondering if there were any can't miss golf courses in Sedona that would be open to the public or hotel guests of the Enchantment? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Wife and I are in Sedona a few times per year, and we've play all of them. The best conditioned when we've been there by far has been Seven Canyon's, albeit short, but somewhat challenging being a par 70 and a wonderful place to stay; followed by Oak Creek GC from the Black tee's (longest in the Sedona), followed by Sedona Golf Resort for a solid iron game.
