Adidas vs. Nike shirt sizing

I'm a solid medium in Nike shirts and have finally found some Adidas shirts that I like! Should I go with the medium or a large? I love the way a Nike Medium fits. It doesn't pull during the swing and isn't too loose either. Its rare for me to fit in a medium but the Nike <golf> shirts are fit for LARGE PEOPLE!! Any help is much appreciated, as I am due some new shirts!

Oh man its hard to tell. I have an XL Nike shirt that I ordered that seems literally 3-4 sizes larger. As for Adidas same thing. If you can try them on that would be the best thing. Its such a pain in the a$$ that one type of shirt fits completely different than another model, but they are both the same size...

Seems to me that the adidas shirts run big well. I have been buying adidas mediums for a while.

I recently started buying Nike mediums because the larges were just too big. The mediums fit perfectly.

I agree Adidas fits bigger, mabye a half size.

Adidas has different cuts. Some are more slim fitting. Inside it will say "Relaxed" or "leaner" and I think others.

I would buy the same size in adidas as you do in Nike...at least that's what I do and have never been burned

I wear both and the Adidas sizing runs larger than Nike comparing XL shirts. I have been losing some weight and some of the Adidas shirts are getting too large while I am just beginning to fit into some of the Nike shirts.

I'd have to agree also. Adidas runs a little larger then the Nike. I like the fit of Adidas for me. I always say the Nike's are cut small to my liking.

The Nike's, I have found, run a little longer in length as well which is good for us long torso guys. Nothing worse than your shirt coming out on every swing.

Wow I do not agree at all. Even the relaxed adidas runs MUCH tighter fitting than Nike Medium, even than Nike TW Medium.

Being 6'5" and 220 lbs., I've always found that Nike XL shirts fit me great in both the width and the length. Adidas XL shirts however, are too wide and too short.

I am opposite to most here. I find nike shirts to run bigger than adidas.

Some Adidas shirts are "Slim Fit" while others are "Relaxed Fit" - the "Slim' or "Athletic" (forgot what they call it) is smaller then the Nike Fit but the "Relax Fit" is larger. If it says nothing, i believe it is Relaxed.

..over here in asia adidas sizes really run really small...i am an L or XL in nike golf shirts but all my adidas golf shirts are 3XL!!!

Check out TGW and the TGW sizing. They measure the shirts and put their own findings - like Large + for a Large, or Medium - for a Medium depending on how it measures out. It also shows the actual measurement #s they got.

It is my experience that both Adidas and Nike run big. I wear a Large in just about any major label (42R jacket size) and I usually buy a Medium in Nike or Adidas golf shirts if they are made from polyester. Then, I take them to the taylor to get the sleeves taken up because they still come to your elbow.

Seriously, I don't know why they can't make a decent fitting shirt out of the gate with all the R & D going into developing the fabrics....

I would go same size. Although, my experience is that the Adidas shirts run smaller than Nike's. My Nike shirts are longer that my Adidas shirts.

Most of the time, Adidas shirts will run 1/2 in. wider armpit to armpit and 1 in. longer than Nike. A small Adidas shirt will feel slightly smaller than a medium Nike for most styles.

You really can't compare the two just by brand, I have Adidas shirts that have the same size on the tag and are easily 6-8 inches different in the chest measurement. You really should try them on, or go to TGW's website, they have actual measurements for a lot of different shirts. It's a lot more accurate than the manufacturer's sites.

Ok , I have been on vacation this week. Heading into Friday I have some time on my hands. So here you go:. Lengths are from arm pit to arm pit,length from colar to botton hem.

TW Nike New: 26 "w 33" L
TW Nike washed: 25"w 33"L
Nike New, washed once: 27"w 33"L
Adidas Clima Cool washed: 28"w 34"L
Adidas Clima Cool New: 28"w 34"L
Adidas Clima Lite New: 28"w 35"L

I bought the two new Adidas shirts yesterday. The new Adidas say relaxed fit. The Nike a few weeks ago and wore it once and washed it once.I pulled out an old Adidas shirt I had for a few yrs. for the washed one. I wash on cold and fluff for ten minutes then hang dry. I never use heat on my golf shirts. All shirts are XXL. I prefer the fit of the Adidas. I am tall and big.

I find it interesting that the nike shirts seem to range in width depending on the model and whether it is new or washed, while the adidas held their sizing consistant whether new or washed. Also the sizing does appear to have the adidas running a little bigger then the nike in the example.

I hate it when a new shirt feels good but then washed doesn't fit the same. I have found Nike XXL fit nicely but I have not owned any adidas golf shirts to compare.

Adidas definitely run big, but I find that most golf shirts run big compared to other clothes. The Climalite's run alittle bigger/quite longer than the Climacool's.
