Which club do you "Ho" the most?

Just wondering if I am truly disturbed, or if it's really common. As golfers, we all are looking for that magic stick that will take strokes off the handicap. Which club in your bag seems to always be on the chopping block. Meaning, which spot in the bag sees the most rotation for you.

For me, it seems to be the 3 wood. I played with an old Maruman M210 for about 6 years, till the head cracked on me, and ever since I have been searching for that same magic. I could not miss with the Maruman. Even with balata balls and a steel shaft and small head, it was good back then for about 265 yards. Now I just can't seem to replace it even with the new technology. Wedges also see a lot of rotation, but mainly because I wear them out pretty quickly. I average a full set of wedges per year. The driver is hit or miss, but it is a big hit right now with the J33R 460, it is a mainstay, as I have tried everything else out there and nothing works as well for my swing. The irons are a mainstay now also, with 695 CB's being custom built for me and working tremendously well.

By the way, putters don't count. True golfers go through putters like Colin Farrel goes through women.

well.. my driver stayed in the bag the longest and I have had my irons for 8? months. But in a year I have gone through 3 putters and 6 wedges... my excuse is that I have only been really playing over a year and am trying to settle into the type of putter I want and the style of wedge (loft/bounce/etc) that I am going to stick with.

3 Woods-Somewhere a couple months ago I lost confidence in what has always been my goto, never lets me down club. So I started hoin' 3 woods. Just when I think I'm good, I start hookin' it. Right now, my R7st seems to be the answer, things are back to normal. But here's the list from the last 60 days.

Sonartec NP-99 w/NV

R7 w/Fuji Vista

Callaway X-Tour w/Diamana

R7 st w/DG Lite

Cobra X/Speed 4+

Then again, nothing is ever really safe...

Irons - like they are going out of style. 20+ sets since 1994. I just imposed a one year moratorium on bag changes, so it is 695.cbs for me until June 17, 2007. Maybe by then I will have padded my savings account with my saved "hoing" money.

I have watched you on various boards thru the last couple of years. BCU, a one year moratorium, Come on, that ain't gonna happen :yahoo: :yahoo:

I PROMISE that I will not buy a club for at least one day. Did I type "year" in my first post? WTH was I thinking!?!?!?!?!

All joking aside, I really am going to try to stick with the same sticks for a while. Problem is that I am so scared that I will impose the moratorium after I fill my bag with the wrong clubs that I keep buying clubs and then taking them back to make sure that I have "chosen wisely." I am such a psycho that I have actually returned three cart bags this week because I knew that I would be stuck with one bag for a while and did not like the way my clubs and headcovers looked in them.

I need a twelve step program!!!!

..the only thing that hasnt changed more than once has been my bag. i have had 2 in the last 8 months. the rest of the stuff, has been changed quite often. im sure i have missed a few things too. i cant really go a week without wanting to try something else. keep in mind that this was only within the last 8 months. my friends think i have a problem.....i dont really disagree. and it isnt that im not comfortable with the equipment, its just the urge to buy more stuff. im sure you guys know what i mean.

Echo most posts - just about everything - but more as a collector than as a constant club tinkerer. I like to keep my competition set (of irons and wedges anyway) fairly set - better playing stuff 'under the gun' that you know what you can do with. I also like to keep the driver fairly set as well. My tendency towards any change is in the fairway metal, hybrid and putter departments. Fairway metals (3 wood) and finding 'the right one' is the probably most elusive track of all.

In summary, I like some degree of consistency in my competition set, but for bounce and social games anything can go in the bag - keeps the game more interesting. After all you can't buy stuff and just look at it.

The only thing I have kept over one year is my TaylorMade Golf Towel that I won in a raffle. I have had it for 5 years. Once I started buying and selling on e-bay it was ON :) . Next thing I know I have almost 500 positive feedbacks in 5 years and most it was buying, playing & then selling it back on e-bay. Sometimes I made money but not always. I've even bought clubs back because I regreted selling it. I think they call it selective memory. After a while you forget why you sold it and think man, I used to kill that thing. I love my current set as I am playing well and plan to keep it for a long time :cheesy:
