Most versatile wedge loft

Between those choices the 56* would be best for greenside. Take that reccomondation from this short game wizard!

I vote for the 58* with about 8* of bounce. That's the setup of my Vokey SM, and I could probably play with just that wedge. Works out of the sand, great for flops, good for low shots, and it stops QUICK!

Everyone will have their own opinion based on multiple factors, but FOR ME, the ideal wedge in versatility is a 58* Scratch with the WLD Grind. Medium bounce and the trailing edge and heel relief allow for a huge variety of lies - hardpan, deep rough, fluffy sand, etc. Open it for flops, close it for chips, square it for full shots. Inside 80 yds. and it's just this wedge (replaced 56/12 and 60/4) and the putter, no matter what I encounter.

I agree with a lot of the thoughts above. I like getting a 60* with low bounce and bending it to a 58*. In my opinion the 60's usually have more sole and heel grinds. By bending them to 58* you still can easily open it up to get all the loft you want or square it up and hit it lower and further then the 60*. It seems to give me some versatility and a larger range of shots from one club.

 

 

I have one of Carlton's Chikara 57* and it knocked my 56* and 60* out of the bag...

Around the green I'd say my 58-08. There are shots I just can't hit with the 50* when I get shortsided. I carry a 56* but it's higher bounce. That one gets the call from all bunkers and when I get on sitting down inside 100. I can chop it really steep and still get some backspin out of the nastiest junk I've encountered. If I had to go with a 3 wedge (including PW) I'd go 52-08, 58-09 but I'd probably get a blade PW or drop the PW for a 48* Vokey. I don't like a CB PW, I feel like mine is more like a 9 1/2 iron.

Not many agree with us, but my 50.08* Vokey is my go to 100 and in also. Perfect pitch and chip club. My 54.14 has high bounce (for sand), and 58.08 I save for flops. "50" is my most used club in my bag after putter.

For me, out of what you listed, a 60* with appropriate grind for opening/closing the face. But, for practice, a 46 and learn to hit it ultra high. When you do the same technique with the 60* you can take a full swing and get it maybe 20 yards
