How to Remove smoke odor/cigarette smell from golf bag?

maguires odor remover for cars. its a goldish color spray bottle and the only thing that i have had great success.

Bottle of a product called something like Otoban or Odoban, mix it 50-50 with water, spray 'er down, let 'er dry, good to go.

Put a scented candle in the bottom of it and let it sit. If you can't get the smell of smoke out of it, why not replace the scent with a better one.

PS. I just thought this up on the spot, don't know if it will actually work. But people do use scented candle to mask smells in rooms so I see no reason why it couldn't work in a golf bag.

You're not kidding...I grew up playing hockey and there is nothing worse than a hockey locker room. A sweet smell to those us of who play, but to "outsiders"...probably enough to want to make people just a touch.

IMO, throwing away something that just needs a good cleaning is very wasteful. Both money and landfill space (though someone would probably pick it out of the trash). It's a bit of a pet peeve of mine to see how disposably a lot of things are treated in our society. Rather than spend a little effort to fix something, toss it and buy a new one. I guess I'm just truning into an old man.

Find a fire damage restoration company close to you. Just look under fire & water damage in the phone book.
Ask them if they'll put it in their ozone room when they are cleaning.
It will get the burnt smell out of just about anything, so your bag shouldn't be a problem.
Most will also have a chemical sponge you can use to clean the bag before placing it in the ozone room, so ask about that too.

You should call around to a few as some will charge you, while others may allow you to throw the bag in with other items they are already treating.

Nothing will get the smell out better than that.

yea, it worked good for me. The only thing I would of done a little different when I washed it in the bathtub is to put a little fabric softner in the water. Probably into the rinse water I would of added the fabric softner.

I tried fabreeze on one, didn't work. I washed it in a bathtub with laundry detergent, fabric softener and hot water. Dried in sunny place, worked excellent! It was a Titleist stand bag. Made it nice and new looking again and the smell was gone.

it’s a mini ozone machine ($25). I plugged this into an extension cord and stuck it in a closet with the clubs and bag. It took a few days but the smell is completely gone from the bag AND the club grips! Be sure to take the clubs out of the bag so the ozone can get into the bag and around the club grips.

Back in the day my team got the chance to play against an NHL alumni team.   For most of us beer leaguers it was the biggest crowd we'd ever played in front of.   People were lined up 3 deep on our walk from locker room to the ice, and as we're making our way out I still remember hearing a little kid saying "eewwww, they STINK".
