What's up with Nicklaus brand golf clubs

I think people will start to see that just because a company isn't on tour that they can have quality equipment. Seems the younger generation does research on line, and buys on line. Doesn't always have to be name brand to be quality.

Why is that a funny post? Equipment is subjective to each individual golfer. As far as the JNP irons they aren't much different than any forged cavity back model today. The lofts are about a club weaker than today and there isn't some of the forgiveness technology incorporated in many irons today. Maybe Kevin is a better player who doesn't need fancy widgets in a club to be able to score. Maybe he just plain likes them. That, to me, isn't funny but rather refreshing.

It was Nelson Doubleday that first bought Tony Penner for two and a half million and then asked Jack to become a major shareholder so that they could put his name to it. The graphite shafts and clubs generally were excellent, so good that after fours years of production Callaway offered to buy them out for a hundred million. Jack wanted to cash in but Nelson, who owned 51%, said no. Sadly Nelson passed away in the late 90's early noughties and I lost touch after that. I still own a set and wouldn't be without them.
