Srixon Z-TX 2 irons

New Model

Received my set of the 2011 Srixon Z-TX2 irons yesterday and played with them today. Very nice club with solid feel and EZ to hit long irons. Did not demo them first but took the chance and I am very happy I did!

Came with Nippon 950 standard shafts!

In case anyone was interested in trying this clubs!

What Irons were you playing prior to the Z-TX2s and how do they compare?

I had a combo set of Mizuno MP53 & MP68. The 53's were nice but did not like the feel of the 68's. Also used my KZG Evolutions, but like these much better.

Better feel, control then both sets.

i've got my set on the way, and i am pumped! these irons are awesome, i cannot wait to take them out on the course. but so far they are the best looking Srixon irons imo.

How do you find the forgiveness, distance, etc compared to the 53's? About the same size, offset, etc?

I've had mine for a couple of weeks (as well as the ZT-X2 driver and fairways) and they are quite simply the best irons I have ever hit. Solid, yet soft and very forgiving for the head size.

Wow. These look fantastic. Almost like an updated and sleeker version of the I-701's which were great irons. How are these in terms of forgiveness and offset?

Very forgiving for a quite compact head but perhaps a slightly thicker top line and sole than some prefer (but work great for me). Haven't noticed much offset but it isn't really something I notice too much unless it's quite extreme. Certainly feel and play better for me than the 701s.

The woods are great too. Also got the Japanese spec Mashie (normal head colour not the retro look) and they are very solid too.

Looks very cool, but I think these would be beyond my ability. Would've loved a pocket cavity version, and a separate solid 'tour' version like these

They have the Z stars which are more forgiving but the Z-TX2s are plenty forgiving for a mid-handicapper IMHO.

I would say the 53's are a little bit more forgiving but not by much.

Great pic...I could not help but notice you have a 50*, 54*, 58* wedge set-up with these irons. Is that due to the PW being a stronger loft (maybe 46*) or simply because this is the wedge lofts your accustomed to?

BTW, those irons do look outstanding!

PW is 46* and I like to keep a 4* gap in wedges.

I couldn't find any local golf shops (golf smith, roger dunn, Dicks, golf galaxy) or even in internet stores.

Not sure if they're available in the USA/Europe. I'm in Asia and got them from my local golf shop.

They seem to be somewhere in between the old i-701 and i-701 tour models.If it is a one peice forging then it will feel more like the 701 tour,with a bit more forgiveness.

I ordered mine from Goal Line Golf and Hockey in Wisconsin.

As I was taking these pics i realized i should have pulled out my 302 irons, the sole of the ZTX2 Really reminds me of 302's. The head is just a little bigger then the 701 Tour, but much smaller then the 701. I was really impressed with how good they felt. They feel softer/purer then my current ZTX irons. These are hands down the best looking Srixon irons to date, IMO. I have not taken them out on the course yet, and it does not look like that will be happening anytime soon. but feel free to post any comparions questions as i have played the ZTX, 701 Tour, 701, 506, 302 and 201 Srixon irons.

Its too early to tell, the ZTX and ZTX2 are very close. ZTX2 is a very tiny bit shorter heel to toe but has a slightly bigger sole.

From the photos it looks like the current ZTXs. I use to play the 506s and found those great I now I have 701s(non-tour) and think they are great but found the 701Tours not forgiving at all.
