In terms of forgiveness both ZTX are closer to the 506's and furthest from the 701 Tour, which as you mentioned are not forgiving at all. But because of the added weights to the long irons to increase the MOI, i would say that both ZTX irons are more forgiving then the 506, but not as forgiving as the 701s. I think I like the ZTX2 so much because of how they remind me of the 302s

Irons look great, althought the sole seems kind of wide....
Do you have pics of the ZTX2 driver, especially at address? Which model do you have? The tour or "normal" version? Is it comparable in shape to the Z-Star driver? Thanks!

I would pay to see a topline side to side pic with my i-701 (non tour) which I've had in my bag uninterrupted since 07, but hard to make an iron change when you can't compare what you got with what you are going to buy, and being in Puerto Rico I doubt I will see a set on any of the two golf shops in the island.

Do you know any dealer in the US that's taking order of these right now. I've seen a couple of them on ebay and here but I'm interested in a 5-PW set only as I plan to keep my i-701 (non tour) 4 iron.

I had a Mizuno combo set: 4-6 MP53's and 7-PW MP68's.

Did not like the 68's at all.

Any chance you would have a picture of the Pitching Wedge...top view as if looking down at it from address??

Anyone with a pic of the Pitching Wedge by chance...?? I seem to have found I am extremely picky about the shape/size of pitching wedges for some reason and trying to figure out if I should order these irons with the stock PW or order the CG 16 in the 46* instead.

I have always stayed away from Mizuno irons for this exact reason of being too picky about the look of the PW. So maybe, if noone has pics, can someone let me know if this one looks more like a Mizuno Pitching Wedge or a Titleist CB pitching wedge (which is the one I hvae seen recently that I did like).

Have owned two sets of Srixon's the Regular 701's and the tour model, both bought used on the bay. No longer have either set, not sure why the tours were one of my favorites. One thing I did notice, both sets were just a hair shorter than most standard irons. Wondering if this is Srixon's standard are were both used sets I owned maybe just non-standard?? Would like to try the ZTX 2 irons but like standard length??

Here's my responce to a question in the JDM section.

I've owned the 506 302 and tour 701, the 302's were always my favorite until I tried the GMac ZTX 2's. These seem to be a blending of all the best attributes from each design. The ZTX 2's feel and look wonderful. They really are quite forgiving as well.

MY vote is the 302's for $$ or the ZTX 2's for $$$ but I think the XTX2's are one of the best kept secrets out there and really don't see anything that looks and feels as good as these. BUT WAIT, "thats not all" and as an added bonus these are a much higher quality forging that most other OEM's as these are forged in Japan.

Finally got mine and they feel awesome plus they are surprisingly forgiving for the size of the head, must be the tungsten technology on the sole. Put some KBS Tour on the and they feel every bit as good as the best Mizuno out there. I personally like the Srixon feel better as Mizunos can feel a bit dead. Put some white paint fill, white ferrules and now I have people stopping me asking if they could try them.

I use the ZT-X Is and have found them excellent sticks.
I kind of rotate them with my mp67s and my Hogan Apex IIs.

They are rather forgiving when I intentionally hit them near the toe.
The Long irons are the easiest forged iron I have encountered that weren't hideous to behold.

Jack Pearsall must look good to his fans and that includes the clubs.

I love the softness and they look spiffy. My fans love them when JP bothers to listen.
I find I can work them well but not as exactingly as my blades.
Sometimes, even a Jack Pearsall takes a holiday...speaking of holidays, let me tell you about Munich and Germans...

this may be an odd question...but my srixon ztx-2 irons are sticky where the cavity is on the back of the clubhead. Where the ZTX is stamped...below the area below where the forged is stamped. That area feels sticky for me to the touch..and it's picking up dust/dirt. Normal? Anyone else experience that? Thanks

Hard to tell anything sticky from those pics, in fact they're cleaner than mine are. Have you tried a mild cleaner like Simple Green, or even diswashing liquid?

strange my ztx2s have the milling marks all the way out on the toe of the face, like the 701tours were. the pic a couple of posts above mine is missing that...i wonder why they would do this...more than one model?

ztx2's are a great set. All in all, one of the better I've played. As good as AP2 in my opinion.

I just got my set and I must say some of the best irons ever hit, longer than ap2 I have, feel is pure as forged can get, not to mention they are some of th easiest irons I have hit, which is weird because they are small, how they did it who knows. Coming from a true ho these may be some of the best irons ever hit, the only drawback maybe the shafts s300 are good but I think there are better anybody have success with other shafts?

Just bought a new set of Adams CMBs today, so the Z-TX 2s (w/ C-Tapers S) will be going up on the auction block soon if anybody is interested.

how is the world did the CMB beat out the Z-TX2, I tried the CMB and was sadly disappointed in every way, I find these Srixons the best around.

Well, to be honest, I got a good deal on the CMB's only yesterday. First range session today, with mixed reviews actually. Jury is still out. I've been playing the Srixon Z-Stars as of late, and for some reason started to struggle with the ZTXs shortly after I got them. So, back to the garage they went. I strongly suspect that the C-Tapers and I just didn't get along
