Got a club in from ebay today, looked at it and immediatly knew i had to change the grip.

Went out and threw on an all white lamkin grip, because theres no way i can have the word karma on a club, if i ever expect to play well. decided to clean it up then as well.

Hey guys, I read this thread from start to finish and loved looking at the pictures, but I did not see many painted grips. Is the process the same to add paint to a grip and is there anything I should watch out for that's different from painting the head of a club? The reason I ask is because I want to buy a set of Lamkin Crossline grips but the gold script logo really bugs me. If I could paint it red to match my irons I think it would be a nice touch. I don't want to buy the grips unless I'm confident I can paint the logo.

Lookin' good Pigems. Did you pull badges out of the cavities? If so, did you shoot before and after pics?

Thank you sir There was no badging in the cavity, it is stamped lettering( Tour Edition /// )with a strip of lead tape over it to make it look more plain and simple lol. Here is what they originally looked like...

I remembered you discussing a possible refinish/grinding in a previous thread. You can't even tell that there was lettering in the cavity. The lead tape was a novel solution to a potentially expensive problem. Was there any noticeable difference in swing weight?

Yeah I was going to get a guy I know to weld/fill in all the letting on the clubheads except for the club number. But after thinking long and hard about it,it wasn't worth it. I only paid $40 for the irons from a guy on kijiji and they just ended up working really well for me. The tape definitely came close enough for me to make me not want to spend that money right now The strip if tape only weighs I think 1g or 1.2g if I remember correctly so it didn't effect the swingweight any amount that I have noticed. And I cut the all exactly the same size and weighed them before I put them on to make sure I added the same amount to each one just in case.

I also sanded down the inside of the cavities as well to try to make all the head look more uniform in color, you can see in the before pics inside the cavity was a darker dull Grey color for some reason.

Well I work for a property management company overseeing their maintenance department, so needless to say I'm a fairly handy fella, and I really like any type of DIY stuff I can do with my gear to make it work better for me or to personalize it a little bit

Saving money while doing so is always a great thing as well, it's never as hard as anyone thinks

Well the white is drying on the irons, this is what it will look like when the rest are done. I also decided to change the wedge colors a bit, they were looking too much Detroit Red Wing and not enough Montreal Canadien

The colors bled together a little with the multi color attempt, so I'll have to redo the white in the lightning bolt again but other then that I like how it turned out. Now to do the rest today

Definitely less 'Winged Wheel' and that's a shame Really like the paint scheme otherwise. Bring on the playoffs.

. . . and the other has Coke colours. You can't win. Now, hopefully Mother Nature gives you a break so you can get these wedges dirty.
