Busnell V2 has arrived!

Recommended Posts

UPS delivered it yesterday and I'm gaming it today. Can't wait! Oh by the way my stop sign is 80 yards away from my driveway but it's playing 76 yards. ;)

Good round! I got my V2 beginning of last season and love it! Easy and accurate!! Only thing is I wish it had a 9 volt battery like the medalist used. Just got to find out where to get them so I have a spare for backup.

Thanks Bodee!! Try Galls it's a public safety company. They usually have deals on them. I am police officer and my patrol rifle and side arm use the same batteries and I have a stock pile of them.

Checked Galls....doesn't seem like they sell the batteries individually. however a website called batteriesandbutter.com has they for $2.50 a piece or cheaper. i wonder how long they last??

I say this in virtually all range finder threads but buy your CR2 batteries at Battery Junction:

http://www.batteryju...racell-cr2.html

They are the real deal, except they don't come in blister retail packaging....they ship them out wrapped in bubble wrap. They last me virtually an entire season (2-3 rounds a week from March until November, and I usually laser 4 or 5 times each hole for my playing partners). I bought like 5 batteries over a year ago, and I'm only on my second one...

Glad you are liking it!

If I had to give up 1 of my 14 clubs for my laser I would do it without hesitation. Once you play with one you can't go back!

+100 I'd give up two! ;)

Go on Amazon for the CR2 battery. You usually can find them for about $3 a pop at bulk quantities (like around 10). The V2 does eat the battery pretty good, IMO.

Put me in the "I freaking love my laser" Club. I think everyone who's ever bought one has used it first on their mailbox & neighbors house!

I only wonder how long before someone posts: "Yeah, but what if you're 3 fairways off line and can't see the pin". Or, better yet, "You guys aren't good enough to need yardage that precise".

Another good battery source is Meritline.

Welcome to the club, Enjoy!

I really wanted to get the one with "slope", but I wanted to use it for my index, and for small tourneys (club championship, etc..)

Kinda wish I would have anyways.... That looks like a very helpful feature.... anyway of do a quick equationn in your head to figure?

measure to flag and to a pint halfway up/down the hill, and guesstimate "sloped" distance?

I'll usually just add/subtract 10% for slope.

i.e. If it's uphill and reads 150, (10% 0f 150 is 15) add that and I'll play 165 shot. That method usually works out pretty well for me.

It speeds up the game a ton for me.... I have my gps on my iphone for blind approaches, and a good "guesstimate", but having the V2 is great!!!

That is going to depend on how severe the slope is. The one hole on my course that has a pretty good slope adds 7 yards to the number using the V2 w/ slope. Most other holes where the approach is slightly uphill the difference is no more than 2 yards.

But it also depends on the trajectory of your shot, which is why the slope feature is just an average.

The lower you hit the ball, the more slope affects your shot.

Damn all of you!!!

Mine comes next week ;-)

I have the sky caddie 2.5 but when I got down to HHI, I realized that it synced weird and most of the courses I needed weren't loaded. Of course the computer was still home in Michigan. One of the guys we got hooked up with had a range finder and it really seemed to help my son out a lot so what the heck, I had some credit at Amazon and pulled the trigger. It was between the V2 and the Leupold 3.5 but for an extra $100 I didn't see the value.

Like most golf shots it depends on the severity of many things. The OP was looking for a "quick equation". The 10% formula is just a starting point.:beruo:
