It is interesting that today, thru three rounds of the Honda, Woods is 1st in driving distance and 15th (I believe) in driving accuracy. I know it is only one tournament, but that's impressive.

Very very very very impressive. The problem with his game and why it is such a hill to climb to get anywhere like he was in 2000, is his putter is no where near as good as it was in the year 2000. People talk about the 2000 swing but never the 2000 putting,

Hopng he fires a 62ish score today, to give himself a chance/boost of confidence. He is due for a low round.,

Not bad my friend. Not bad.

MASTERS... that's all I'm going say.
I'm sorry, but just because you say it, it doesn't mean it's going to happen.

Golf is a funny game and these bold predictions mean nothing.

But it is nice to see him back in the hunt and playing better. It's always more entertaining when he competes. As always, I will root strongly against this incredibly talented jerk because nothing gives me more satisfaction than seeing him lose. Of course, it rarely happened in the past, but it's not the past anymore.

I think he's peaking perfectly for the Masters, that's all I'm saying. I expect to see some unbelievable majors this year, so golf fans are winning. Rory, Phil, Tiger, battle it out... this is GREAT

The fan boys are going to be asking you soon, "What's with all the hate?"

As you know, I am no fan boy of ELDRICK and as such will be called negative when facts about his current play are not on the fan wagon. Apparently MASTERS is like throwing down on the lottery, great expectations...... headed for disaster. Shoot 62 when you're in the final group and that will get some attention about you being back, but starting the 4th round tied for 18th, makes it a great single round. Fan boys will be quick to look for a spark of a resurrection of the past performances of ELDRICK, when he was indeed great, but as you so eloquently shared with us the truth about his past, it's long gone.

Driver = great, iron play = great

Putting = average (for his standards)

I like what I am seeing out of Eldrick, though. He will get the putter hot again and he will win. I am not trying to be profound here, it simply that the guy has more golf talent in his pinky toe than everyone on this board combined. Its going to be soon and its going to be great for the game of golf.

Pretty good field to be 1st in total driving and 1st in ball striking, and his proximity to the hole is very good. This isn't one round, this has been going on for a while now. The only thing that has stopped him from creaming almost every field this year is his putting, something that the Masters greens tend to negate. So, I think he's got a very good chance.

Why does it always have to come down to fan boy / no fan boy? How about simple observations.

The king of spain drove his cart on a green at our course yesterday and nobody said a thing.
Old Juan Carlos pulls that trick on every course he visits. He tried it last year at our place. When the members complained, Juan start waving his arms about shouting " no habla ingles". Next thing, the secretary opens his window to his office and asked what all the commotion was. I turned over my shoulder and said " Juan Carlos up to his old tricks again".
"Righto" replied the secretary, "I'll get the shotgun".
"better make it the pump-action" I responded.
"why's that?"
"Woods is teeing off in ten minutes"
You could actually hear the sound of cartridges falling off his desk. True story.

I will say it again. Tiger's game is sick.

BUT, he is waaay hunched over with the putter and has been for 2 years. I keep writing this, b/c one day he may actually read this. Stand more upright and the "toe" will release numbskull...

Please let the planets align so we have a shoot out at the Masters. Tiger, Rory, and PHIL... I am not sure how you guys can crown Tiger when Phil is actually peaking also.

To me, the putting stroke on Sunday looked like it was swinging a little more inside, and the toe was opening a little more than it has been. Maybe all the stories about Tiger's putting have affected him (he's very media conscious) and he went back to the basics... Either way, none of this matters until he makes putts on Sunday in a major, but this is part of the process hopefully.

No offense, but Phil's "peaking" at the Northern Trust was a colossal collapse, somewhat reminiscent to the "Open that got away" at Winged Foot!
